Decent for winter ski/snowboarding trip
We stayed in a room with Queen size bed for our snowboarding weekend trip. The room was clean and has a historic touch to it but a bit small. The walls are thin, so we could hear ppl in the neighbouring room talking. It's better to stay in one of the hotels/motels near Heavenly on Lake Tahoe Blvd for the similar or lower price.

Camp Richardson
It was great, the location is RIGHT on Lake Tahoe. It is a great spot for hotel, cabin, or camping (and they have all three). The only thing they didn't have is a TV but it says on their website they do that on purpose so you are close to nature.

Not Applicable
If you are trying to get to skiing or snowboarding northerly of the hotel the road sometimes gets closed because of a storm but Sierra is south of the hotel and a short distance.

It gets better
[...], the front desk clerk is amazing!! We had so much gear and supplies that we really didn't want to haul it up the stairs of the lodge and he was very helpful in accomodating us with a Beachside Inn. After coming back from a full day of snowboarding, this was just what we needed. And, whoever did the room that day, put a sweet touch on the towel and shampoo presentation. All and all, it was an excellent stay. Thanks [...].

A nice camp site hotel. Overall it is OK
This camp site hotel has small room but clean and intimate. We did not mind no TV in the room or the room and bathroom are very small. It is still clean and has nice views looking through the window. The only complaint we have is the noise. At night there was this pounding-on-metal noise on and off, it woke me up for a couple of times, and my poor husband did not sleep at all all through night. It wasn't just one night, it was during our two nights stay in there. Therefore, there is something wrong with the sound proof condition of the property. Overall, we did have a good stay at Camp Richardson.

Nice but could use a little more work
Camp Richardson's a decent hotel for the price. I have to say I had my best sleep of any of my stays at S. Lake Tahoe. The room was quaint and quite cozy. Our neighbors from home's room upstairs was a little more nicely decorated and had a real rustic feel to it. Rooms could use a little upgrade, but heck, for the price we paid, we all came out feeling good about the experience. Other than that, we had a little problem with our toilet. The float in the toilet was broken, but it wasn't anything that would ruin a trip. We just manually flushed the toilet. My neighbors from home gave it good marks and they're more finicky then us. we all agreed, we will all be coming back.
