Comfort in the best location
The building is old, like all buildings in LA, and it doesn't have much glamor, but it's very comfortable -- quiet, great beds and bedding, and the price and location are the best. The back rooms overlook a park with palms and have a side view of the ocean. Right across the street is the Santa Monical mall and walking street; it has a festival atmosphere every day with great shops and outdoor dining.

Right across the street, in the Santa Monica mall (3rd floor), is a great Mexican restaurant, La Sandia. Has a full page of Tequila varieties, and the carne asada is outstanding.

Great location
Great location, but hotel was in the middle of a management change from Holiday Inn to Wyndham and they did not serve the Holiday Inn breakfast . There is a McDonald's across the street. Rooms were a bit on the small side, felt more like a 2 star. Parking was $31 dollars a night!

Lovin California
Great experience
This Hotel was a great pick. Perfect location. One block from the Pier and the beach. Only 1.5 mile walk to Venice Beach. Five minutes to Santa Monica Place and Third Street Promenade.Always something going on at the Promenade. Had a great week and would definately recommend this Hotel. Very clean Staff was great.

Great By the Beach Hotel
Very happy with stay. The pool is a bit dated. But everything else was great. Very good and friendly staff.

Good Location
This hotel is the perfect location for shopping and hitting the Santa Monica Pier. Walking distance to the thrid street promenade, Santa Monica Place and Main Street. Driving distance to Malibu, Hollywood and Venice. I enjoyed the stay but request a room on the opposite side of the hotel as Colorado Av as it is extremely noisy. If you dirve or rent a car, make sure it's small because the entrance is not easy to navigate off of Colorado and the garage is under the hotel so just be careful. The staff was excellent and very friendly.

Johnny Rockets at the Thrid Street Promenade was the friendlilest place to sit and have a burger and beer. I know Johnny Rockets are everywhere but this one had it all together.

Fantastic Experience, why it's my favorite L.A. Hotel
The Holiday Inn Santa Monica is my favorite Los Angeles area hotel. It's in a perfect location for getting around the West Side. The amenities aren't over the top for a business traveler like myself. There's internet, great service, and the staff are super friendly. It's also affordable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Exceeded expectations
I never write reviews, but I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The location is perfect; the rooms are luxurious; and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It's rare that I can say: I had no complaints! Parking is pricey, but I imagine it is everywhere in Santa Monica. Great value!
