Great place to stop
Traveling with a group on a budget, it was very difficult to find a reasonably priced room anywhere in this area that received decent reviews and did not make me concerned that I would be bitten by bed bugs or woken up by trains in the night... This Super 8, however, met the expectations set by its positive reviews. The staff was kind and professional, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was great (as long as you don't mind taking it to go). Overall, it's a great value, and I would definitely go back.

Last minute getaway
My boyfriend and I traveled during the busy summer season and found this hotel. It is extremely clean and a very short walk to the beach and boardwalk. It isn't the most modern place but it did the trick and was really clean.

Great location, great price
Room was clean, and for the price, that was enough for me. You can't beat the location. The staff was very nice.

Nothing fancy, but was CLEAN & close to the Boardwalk
We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. Nothing fancy, but it was CLEAN with NO bad odors. We were able to get the bottom floor so that we could house our bicycles safely at night. We will definitely return.

Our favorite restaurant was called IDEAL. Located ideally at the corner of Boardwalk street and entry onto the wharf. Great food, great music, great atmosphere. We sat outside where they had giant heat lamps to keep us warm and toasty yet able to hear the ocean. A+ rating from us.

Boardwalk fun
The location was amazing. Just two blocks to the boardwalk (which was a lot of fun). The room was mediocre (at best). Old and dated, but it was clean and there was no evidence of bugs. The breakfast was a joke. There was coffee and bread with a toaster.

Good location and affordable
Perfectly located at just a block and a half from the Beach Boardwalk allowing you to leave your car in the free onsite parking. The rooms are small and basic but clean and the walls are a little thin. The breakfast is just toast and cereal available from reception and there was no fridge or microwave in my room. THere is a small pool and though I didn't use it there were several families who seemed to be enjoying it tremendously. Overall it suited me to a tee and I consider it good value form money. I would certainly stay here again.

Nice Hotel Close to Boardwalk/Downtown
My only issue with this was that when I booked the room I was told I booked a room with a microwave and refrigerator and when I checked in I did not have either in my room. Since we were staying for several days I had planned on having these amenities and thus could not take left overs back to my room and couldn't put the water bottles/sodas I had brought with me in a fridge. Also... Bring your own pillow!! The staff was courteous enough to provide us with 2 more... but I the pillows were not comfortable at all.

Adequate
For the price, I did expect a bit higher quality from the room and service. The amenities were clean but there was nothing beyond that that made it a fantastic place to stay. I would rate the hotel as adequate.

Adequate
We were in Santa Cruz for a wedding. We wanted to be within walking distance of the Boardwalk because we enjoy being able to walk everywhere. The location was great. The Boardwalk is a five minute walk away. The hotel was sufficient for sleeping--nothing fancy, but it was clean. Check-in and out was pleasant. The continental breakfast consists of two kinds of cereal.
