Nice place to stay that's close to the beach.

Came in for a Winter Session with school. My initial impression was that the hotel was beautiful, very fitting for Santa Barbara and not at a bad price. Once I checked into a suite I noticed that many of the fixtures and characteristics of the decor were a bit dated and in need of a makeover. Somethings like rust or aging doors and furniture all give the impression of quality. The bed and room were safe and comfy, no issues with room service. The staff were top notch, had a little attitude from the front desk upon arrival, but was ignored after meeting some very friendly staff later on. Will stay there again for sure.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Eating in the restaurants is a bit pricy. For those wanting to save a buck, breakfast: McDonalds right around the corner (ask the guys out front). Also many of the rooms have a refrigerator, you can buy drinks and water at a Trader Joes or market also right around the corner. This hotel charges for internet ($12.95 per day), bring your own wireless if you can.

Bachelorette Party

The grounds & location were very pretty. The room was nice & clean w/ plenty of room for 5 people. However, for the price, i was expecting something newer & nicer. The staff was very helpful & kind. The pool was a bit small & there was only one pool which was not enough to accomodate guests. We couldn't get chairs unless we went out at 9am to reserve them. Im surprised they didn't seat you like they do at the 4 seasons.

Fantastic family getaway

The Fess Parker is in just the right location to enjoy the beauty of Santa Barbara. The service is great and their complementary cookies delicious. The room could have been a bit cleaner. When we checked in there were ants in the bathroom; however, they tended to the problem immediately!

30th Wedding Anniversary

I would expect that when you are paying over $400 a night for a hotel room that parking and WIFI be included. The pool area was lacking in sufficient lounges. At check in I made the comment that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and it was ignored. I was not looking for a freebee but would have been nice if the front desk at least acknowledged. All in all the room was not worth $450 a night.

nice hotel for a sister vacation

Hotel was very nice and luxurious. Very comfortable beds. Could use a bigger bar area but outside bar food area was great. Pool area and pool were very nice. Nothing doing at night and hotel was too quiet without activities going on. However it was near most attractions. Trolley tour of Santa Barbara was excellent and gave a good overview of local area.

Wish I paid the extra $100 for a better hotel

Me and my fiancé spent a weekend here and the location was wonderful. When we checked in we looked forward to unwinding but when we got to the room it had a funny smell so I called the front office to see if we could switch rooms. The lady said she can switch me but it was in the next building and she would send a bell boy to help us with bags. When the bell boy came he didn't know which way was up or down. After walking the wrong way TWICE to our room we finally got to it and began to unpack. When we opened the fridge it had the smell of ammonia and the drinks in it were not cold. I called the front office and the maintenance guy came and told us what we already knew it was broken. He asked if we would want a new one but by then we were agrivated by the whole situation so so just decided to make the most of it. Moral if the story I woulnt stay here again. I learned to pay that extra $100 bucks for a REAL luxury hotel.
