Value and convenience near gorgeous East Beach
The Santa Barbara Inn is located just across the street from East Beach, which is widely regarded as the finest beach in Santa Barbara. The inn overlooks the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by palm trees and gardens. The electric Santa Barbara shuttle (fees apply) stops in front of the Santa Barbara Inn, allowing guests to see the sights in the most convenient, eco-friendly way possible. Soccer tournament stay
Our family stayed at this hotel for a soccer tournament. The location was nice and so was the valet man. The hotel is very quiet and the guests are on the elderly side, which tend to get annoyed with children. The hotel seems to support the majority of their clients. If you are traveling with children, I do not rrecommend this hotel! The continental breakfast was horrible and their is no air conditioning in the rooms and the elevator doesn't work. For the money there are definitely better options!

Great location--tired facility
Location is Santa Barbara Inn's number 1 attribute. Continental breakfast is more than adequate. Staff is attentivce and friendly. The floors, bathrooms, carpets, swim pool and overall general appearance feel tired and used. Would recommend a progressive renovation. We like it because of its location!

Vermonter seeking sun
Winter Getaway
Loved the location right across from the ocean. They have a great options for their continental breakfast in a larege windowed room on the third floor looking out on the ocean. Great way to start the day! The staff was very enthusiastic and helpful giving us suggestions of things to do and places to go hiking. The best rooms are on the second and third floors, poolside , with ocean views. There is a great store 1 block away with fresh fruit and other healthy snacks. Easy access to beach and right on the bus line. The beds were comfortable. Some rooms have nice furniture than others. Has character!

Couple getaway
Staff could not be better. Ready to help with absolutely anything. Room - a little dated with a few stains on the carpet. Pillows were feather but collapsed as soon as you laid on them. No air conditioner, we like it cool. Would likely not stay there when it is very hot outside. Hotel was a bit rundown in general with some chipped paint in the common area doorways and doorways to rooms. Pool area was very plain with 3-4 good sized areas missing paint in the hottub. A little attention and the hotel could be five star. Again, staff was way above average with a front desk person even looking up the low tides when I said I was interested in some tidal pools. And the location couldn't be beat.

this was a great location for everything to do in Santa Barbara......THANKS JAKE!!!! a cross from the ocean, minutes from the Pier and State Street....will definitely stay here again

nice and clean
I stayed for 4 nights for a work trip. It was very quiet with a good work space in the room. There were good quality clean linens on the bed,(both under and over the blankets). The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking in the garage is an extra $7, but I was able to park on the street right in front of the lobby for free every night but one. I will stay there again.

Comfortable and Clean
This is an older hotel that looks like a motel from the outside. The lobby looked old when we walked in, but that is the worst thing I can say about the hotel. The rooms were large with extra chairs and a huge flat screen tv, and the king sized bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. There were two sinks in the room, which is always a good thing. It's not the fanciest hotel but it was a nice place to stay and the location was great....across the road from the beach. Didn't need a car. I'd recommend it.

The wharf was about a 15-20 minute walk along the beach and there's also a 50 cent trolley that stops right outside the hotel.

overnight stay for concert at the SB Bowl
I was disappointed in not receiving a room with an ocean view and the late check in time of 4:00 was inconvenient. It is also unfortunate that the hotel does not have a bar or restaurant.
