overpriced

Our room was satisfactory, clean and comfortable. My main disappointment was that it in no way was comparable to other hotels for which we have paid a similar price. The room and bath were very small, (though adequate). The breakfast was quite ordinary. The main plus were the beautiful lagoon and the pool area, but an overnight stay did not give us time to enjoy them. Recommendation: This hotel is probably much cheaper during the week, but over-priced on a Saturday night.

Visiing "The Dr."

Nice hotel. Convenient location to 101..which takes you everywhere North and South. Very convenient to Santa Barbara Exits. Staff was nice, rooms a little dated but very clean. Comfy king size bed. Next time would prefer a room with Lagoon view. Our view was the parking lot. Overall a nice home away from home for our 6 day stay.

Better than many

We've stayed at many Santa Barbara locations over the last 17 years - grandchildren in the area. Ramda was fine, near the 101(easy on and off) very inexpensive on a comparative basis, attractive grounds, breakfast only OK because they had not protein in the form of meat on the menu. Will stay there again.

The place and room was at a nice place. Had a pretty nice view of the mountain, the place was quiet as I was looking for. Service was good, I especially like the fresh warm cookies they had waiting in the front lobby. I would go back again.

Fantastic Family Getaway

My 10-year old son really enjoyed the pool and the cozy bed. I wish we could have stayed longer but our weekend getaway consisted of shopping at Paseo Nuevo mall only 4 miles away. Had an affordable dinner at Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant. My son and I went swimming after dinner- pool is open until 10pm. Woke up around 8am to enjoy Belgian waffles, fruit, and pastries at Ramada's free breakfast-- the coffee was excellent! We drove over to Stearn's Wharf for souvenir shopping and enjoyed the view of the beach. With merchant validation, the 1st 90 minutes of parking is free at the wharf! We didn't have time to check out the museum of natural history but on our to-do list next time we come to Santa Barbara. Price was reasonable- adults $8 & children $5. Plus Ramada let us check out an hour later!

Beautiful Lagoon Grounds

Not the best location for access to restaurants and stores. Must take 101 unless you take the backroute on Foothill. Close to UCSB. The room was spacious enough but the bathroom was tiny and not much counter/shelf space. Beautiful lagoon area at center of property. Friendly ducks! Breakfast left much to be desired. The only protien offered was hardboiled eggs.

Good Value for nice hotel

We were looking for a hotel near the UC Santa Barbara campus. This hotel was just 4 miles away and easy to get back and forth. The continental breakfast was substantial. Check in was effortless. The hotel was two stories without an elevator which was fine with us. Although the hotel is just east of the 101 freeway, the noise was not bothersome.

A nice spot to stay near to everything

Needed to find a place to spend the night on our college road trip journey. This place is centrally located to UCSB, and downtown Santa Barbara -about 10 minutes in either direction. Located right off of the 101 FWY - which is a good thing for getting around, but a little noisy in the evening with the windows open Fresh cookies at checkin....a nice room that overlooked the lagoon, and CAN I TELL YOU ABOUT THE FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST!!!....a wonderful assortment of pastries, breads, waffles, bagels, and muffins, as well as cereals, juices, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit and great coffee. The staff was courteous and friendly, It suited all of our needs - would stay there again
