Nothing special

Front desk staff not very friendly, didn't explain the hotel amenities. Room was spacious but average. Good location near freeway but room was noisy. Maid left wet towels on bathroom counter that we had forgotten to put on the floor, she should have either taken them or hung them up. Breakfast was subpar. Not a good value for the money, we probably won't stay here again unless we're desperate.

Very quaint nestled next to the freeway but you would never know it.. Suite was on the small side but the bed quality definitely made up for it. They do not have a self laundry facility which would have been nice. Breakfast was awesome.

Best Kept Secret

The hotel is a short 10 minute drive from downtown Sta. Barbara, which is not bad, being on the way if you are planning on visiting the vineyards further north, or the Danish inspired town of Solvang. The hotel has modest , but well-kept, facilities. The room was bigger than I expected--all suites from what I was told, with 2 flat screen TV's, refrigerator, free wi-fi, and very clean.. The room was well-appointed, with a sofa, writing desk, two full queen-sized beds and very clean bathrooms. Breakfast is all to order. You just hand your choice to the counter and get your breakfast in a couple of minutes. None of the cookies and coffee you find in cheap chain hotels. The landscaping around the hotel was beautiful and there is a restored 19th century house beside the main hotel building, which I understand is used for meetings and conferences. If you do not want the noise of downtown Sta. Barbara at night or the constant flow of cars near the beach, this is the hotel for you and it does not hurt that the price was very reasonable.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

For one of the best Mexican food in California, at least according to Julia Child herself, try out the La Super Rica Taqueria. No pretensions. Only good food.

Great for families

My mon, sister and I went to Santa Barbara for a weekend getaway trip on Mother's Day weekend and stayed at Pacifica Suites. The location was great--it was a quick 7 min drive over to downtown Santa Barbara and was easily accessible to major highways. The grounds were beautiful with lush gardens and a centrally-located, gated pool that was great for families. Our suite was comfortable with 2 double beds and a sofa bed, which meant that we didn't have to share a cramped double bed! The included breakfast was also terrific! They had the usual continental breakfast stuff laid out (cereal, yogurt, pastries, hard-boiled eggs), but there were also hot items made to order (eggs, bacon/sausage, waffles, pancakes, omelets, hash browns, toast). Every patron is given a "ticket" upon check-in with the food choices and you just have to give the ticket to the cook when you get to the dining room. Overall, it was a wonderful stay! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars all the way down was because the room was a little run-down and because the hotel was a little pricier than I would have liked (but it was a good price for Santa Barbara.)

Great Family Hotel

This hotel was clean and the staff was great! It is in an obscur area, so don't plan on walking off the property to find anything to do. It was a great place to stay overnight on the way up north. The free hot breakfast was a great perk too! I would request to not face the freeway.

Relaxing, quiet; hotel staff helped with dinner reservations at a great on-the beach restaurant. Will stay there again.
