Beautiful place)
This was a great place to stay, just at the end of State Street. The pool area and grounds were very tranquil. We would definitely go back, go to the beaches and golf (across the street!) We left the car and took bus down State Street. My only complaint would be that the coffee/breakfast is disappointing, but there is a great bakery--Renauds??- across the street. This place is a great deal. The rooms are not huge but very modern, new tv, fridge, microwave.

Not enough for the price
Breakfast wasn't worth the effort to even eat. The hotel had wifi but could never get a signal to even try it out. The weather was fairly warm so we used the A/C and it was very loud. Just couldn't recommend this for the price that we paid.

Good and convenient
I like the convenient location. Although the shower stall(not modern but old tile style) in our King suite was small, the rest of the room was large enough and very comfortable with added sink, coffee maker, a microwave and refrigerator. The furnishings were not new but the bed was very comfortable for us. There was a cute pool, nice garden, gazebo and places to sit on the open walkway outside our room. Located on State Street near the 101 it was very convenient to visit family in Santa Barbara. The only two drawbacks were the small towels - I asked for additional ones and they were provided. Our last night there was marred by inconsiderate people who talked and made loud noises in the gazebo at 2:30 - 4:00am in the morning. We complained to the front desk - who told them to quiet down. They only made more noise. Finally the visitors left and the guests went to their room. I would go there again as the price and location is right. Hopefully, that incident is a rarity. I do hope the managers would be more forceful in this area.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
Across the street and nearby are shops. You can walk to the local golf course. La Cumbra mall is very close with lots of places to eat and get what you need. Also, State Street downtown is very close where all the shops and restaurants are. Never drove more than 15 minutes even to the pier by the beach.

quaint atmosphere
We were in Santa Barbara to attend our daughter's graduation. The motel was clean and quiet, even on a busy street. It was easy walking to good restaurants and stores.

Good for the price
For one of the less expensive hotels in Santa Barbara, it was fine. Pool, rooms (we got two) and areas were clean and comfortable. It's not walkable to 'the action' on Old Town State Street, but an easy drive. Also, there are restaurants and a nice market near by. Continental breakfast was simple but also fine (typical toast, bagels, packaged rolls, etc.).

I will never book here again or recommend anyone else try... I slept in my sweats to avoid touching linens and kep my pepper spray and phone next to me! They should be ashamed to have a motel like this in Santa Barbara!!

Great stay at this Hotel
This Hotel was very quiet. The King size bed was very comfortable after the long drive from the Bay Area. The staff was extremely helpful, continental breakfast was a plesant surprise with plenty of coffee and sweet rolls. Would definitly recommend this Hotel. I stayed in room 11, which was very isolated from the rest of the rooms.

Generally Okay...
This was a family trip to Santa Barbara & this hotel offers suites at a good price point so that was our reason for choosing it. Also, it's located on State St. so it is less than 5 min to great shopping and the beach. Our kids were extremely disappointed to find out that the pool was broken. Nobody alerted us in advance...we would have chose another hotel. Staff was curteous, room was clean. Nothing fancy at all but our suite had a kitchen with a seperate room with a door which was nice. No full length mirror, and only one mirror total in the suite bathroom so it made getting ready tough for the girls! If you need to save money, this is a decent hotel.

Short drive from hotel
There are many different al fresco cafes & such on State Street. We tried 3 of them and every one had great food and so nice to people watch.
