Decent Value

Just a place to sleep, the room was nothing more. Not the cleanest joint and we asked for non-smoking but turned out to be smoking. Still for SB area it is cheap, and good location right off freeway. We came up after work on a Friday en route to wine country for the weekend. We needed somewhere to crash. This filled that requirement. I would consider it again.

Decent

For what we paid and for a short stay it was accommodating. However, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

my fault for not complaining .... however....

Checkin went smoothly except I was not given a receipt and didn't realize it until my return home the net day. The handles on the access to the lavitory and bathroom were so sticky we had to wash them; is there no maid service? When we went to bed there were hairs AND what looked like blood on the sheets; I tried to wash it but it was dried but couldn't whoever made the beds taken a minute and put non stained sheets on a bed? I had been around this Motel 6 since the 70s when my mother in law stayed there and I hated the rooms back then. I bowed to other family members to save a little money by not staying at the much nicer motel next door; this is a mistake I will never make again. Like I said it was my fault for not calling the front desk and complaining but after a busy day with family I was extremely tired and didn't want to bother. On the up side, the tv worked fine. Upon rising the next morning after practically no sleep because of the active bed above us all I wanted to do was go home; which is exactly what we did so I have no idea if the shower worked or not .... did have to wait a few minutes to get some hot water out of the lavitory tap. I could have mentioned all this to the front desk clerk (the same one who checked me in) but he was busy with what looked like an unhappy customer so I just said I was checking out and left.

Over night it's alright.

It's a bed, a bathroom and a TV. If you want amenities then you were not looking at Motel 6 in the first place.

Motel 6 Santa Barbara

First of all I was only here for work in the area and only stayed 1 night. The room was very small but clean and the price was great. Front counter people were super nice. I had no problems here.

Lost my 'cool'.

When I arrived, the clerk was very pleasant & accommodating in the office. However, when I got to my room, I found that the refrigerator, which I paid extra for, was not working. It was turned up all-the-way, so there was no need to wait for it to get cold. The room was colder than the refrigerator, and there was water in the 'drip tray'. I called the desk clerk & he said that it was the chain's policy to keep the refrigerator temperatures low for "safety" reasons (really?). I told him that I was 61 years old and I know a broken refrigerator when I see one -- could he please come up and take a look. He refused several times, until I told him that I wanted to check out. THEN, he came up, but by that time I'd decided to follow-thru and check out. I NEEDED a refrigerator to chill the cold goods I'd brought in order to avoid the expense of eating out. I got my $ back, but it left a bad taste in my mouth to not be taken seriously. There was a nice motel next door for $4 more, and the refrigerator worked perfectly.

Very Nice for the price

The hotel was clean, the staff friendly. I liked the room decor - modern. It had a desk with a booth seat that I liked and felt comfortable working at my laptop. The staff (too bad I didn't catch names! I'd list them here for kudos) was exceptionally nice. I hadn't been there before and they helped with all my needs/wants. THANK YOU!
