Santa Barbara Double Tree
A perfectly reasonable hotel in downtown Santa Barbara a short walk or drive from the town centre. It was clean, friendly and reasonable for what it was. Great pool and ood fitness room, if a little small but to be expected for hotels. Breakfast and food in the hotel was a little average and would recommend heading into town for food in the mornings as the buffet was a trifle expensive at $22 per head for mostly tasteless food. Staff at the hotel are friendly if a little slow and not terribly responsive. We had to call them repeatedly after being assured of call backs from reception to deal with a minor issue but on the whole OK.

Excellent accomidations
Location is the key, as it's probably the only one. However you just feel relaxed & stretch out. If I could find the same price - i'd stay there again!

beautiful view and that's about it!
The room had a great view of the ocean but was definitely overpriced for what it is. The hotel food is not very good. Save your money and take a walk in the town and eat out.

greet time
We had a great time though I was slightly disappointed with some of the services at Fess Parker. It has changed since we were there the last time. Valet persons were great but the waitress at the morning cafe were very slow and not paying attention to incoming persons to eat. Otherwise I enjoyed our stay.

A New Tradition!!
We checked in 5 years and 1 day after we were married there in the Rotunda "Roundhouse" at the Fess Parker. The staff was able to upgrade our room to a suite for a few bucks more. They even sent some bubbly up to our room! We had brought our mountain bikes along for a nice ride along the bike path that linked several restaurants on the water's edge. Early check-in and late check-out made the stay stress free.......the in room Jacuzzi didn't hurt either! Thanks again!!!

Rodney's Steakhouse was awesome. Great food and the portions were big enough where we ended up splitting a plate. The ribeye was cooked to perfection rivaling Ruth's Chris. The warm spinach salad was tasty(we split that too) and the bread pudding was excellent!

Fess Parker's DoubleTree...Ok
This trip was for a Valentine's Day Weekend Getaway. Fess Parker's DoubleTree is a "walk across the street" to the beach. If you like the beach and all it's attractions, this is the right hotel. It is a very large resort so, if you only plan to stay the night, your limited on getting out of the hotel what it can offer. They have bike rentals, putting, tennis, gym, swimming, and restaurants on site. You really could get comsumed just by the hotel itself and not the town!I have taken a trip like this before and it doesn't compare. You don't want to coup up in the hotel all weekend so it is probably best to plan ahead and utilize a tour agency such as Captain Jack's Tours if you want to be a "Wow!ser." (Hey [...]. Thanks for the ride. Sorry. My gf couldn't wait...) One event a day should do. Did some beer tasting and took a sunset cruise to pass the time so the trip was definitely not boring. The service at the hotel is 7 on a scale of one to ten: 9 for checking in/out, 5 for parking, 6 room and service, 10 for breakfast buffet, 8 for ammenities. For a four-star resort, not all that great. Not the mountain view I thought I was getting but, they compensated with an awesome comp'd buffet. Buffet was great. Continental breakfast on STEROIDS! Plan to pay at least $25 a seat for buffet. The room key would not open the parking gate at night so I had to pay the fee. The hotel re-embursed me. Virtually no contact with human employees from check-in to breakfast (Hellos don't count.) The room was big and had a big TV but, I was not there to watch TV(no blow dryer?) Room was easy to find but, at one point, I had trouble getting the door unlocked (kinda embarrassing.) Nothing extremely wrong but, the hotel was not a WOW!ser. Don't depend on the money you pay for the hotel to impress your guest or yourself. Use your brain, plan ahead, and do stuff to make it a weekend you'll never forget without the hotels help.*Cocktail Party Info: Fess Parker's DoubleTree Resort is one of the TOP 100 places to have a Wedding in America.
