Under Rennovation
The motel (yes motel) is under rennovation. There is a tent out front to check in, no lobby, ect... Lets just say that this is a motel where drunk college kids come to party. So if you dont care about sanatation, dont mind construction and want to drink beer with your neighbor then this is the spot for you. There are tons of other hotels in the area that are cheaper and of a higher quality. Spend the time and do the research.

Affordable comfort
The hotel is in a fun location on State Street near downtown. It is an older hotel, but well kept. The pool was nice and warm. The staff were great and it was a good bargain for the location

Clean and Great Value
This isn't a luxury resort, but I can't imagine a better hotel for the money. The rooms were huge, quiet and clean, the staff was friendly and the price was economical. We had read other reviews and were expecting something OK - but were pleasantly surprised. The carpets were extremely clean and looked to be no more than a couple months old.

Decent place in a good location
The staff was friendly and the location is good. The maid service is great, the rooms are very clean. They are also well furnished, though a bit small. There were only a few problems. For some reason, the cable kept going in and out, and likewise for the wi-fi, so that sometimes I had to go downstairs to the lobby to get internet access. Other than that I was happy.

Fun Weekend in SB
Although the Days Inn lacks curb appeal, this hotel is in a perfect location and has everything you need. The room was huge and the pool area was amazing. It is also within walking distance to all the hot spots on state street.

Unhappy Touristy
Overpriced and outdated motel with good location
The reservation from the third party vendor didn't indicate the proper address on the print out so we arrived at the other Days Inn which is located on the beach. This particular motel is very ordinary and very run down with drunken bums sleeping in front - we were happy to hear from the friendly manager that we were at the wrong place. Unfortunately 1.6 miles later our hopes had vanished. Although the location is nice bear State street, the Days Inn is extremely outdated with very old room. The mildew smell is unbearable and the A/C unit is extremely noisy and inefficient. The night was unrestful. The breakfast is a joke - 5 pastries with some coffee warmers doesn't qualify as Breakfast - this is a snake yet a complimentary service that most places have. Holliday Inn Express and Best western Plus where we have stayed at the last couple of nights before all did better with a full warm breakfast at the same price. The only elevator is very slow and congested due to 3 floors sharing one machine. Take the stairs if you are up for it. The layout of the swimming pool is good. Rooms should be prices at 99$ and below not 150$ +. Yes it is in downtown Santa Barbara but the room has no charm and the outdated furnitures and bathroom gives a feeling of filth. The room was not actually dirty or stained but very unwelcoming. Definitely a room where a death row inmate sleeps. Pass your way and book something else in Santa Barbara - the city is incredible and beautiful but this Days inn certainly not. Staff was standard for this category - unremarkable but to the point. They didn't make us feel wanting to stay more but the room had already taken care of that anyway.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Take a walk to the Wharf about 25-30 min from the hotel straight down to The Crab House - amazing meal for a good price with a beautiful view of the pier. Lots of nice bar and restaurant along State Street - leave your car in the garage and walk downtown. Best thing we did was to stay out as much as possible from this rat-hole.

Not good for the value they are charging
The hotel charged occupancy tax which they could have been told to the customers in front.

Below average
Upon arrival we were given keys to a room already occupied. Understaffed and not impressive. Continental breakfast was weak coffee and stale buns.

Awful hotel, not to Santa Barbara Standard
My wife and I stayed one night at this hotel. First of all, we woke up with flea bites, which tells us the rooms are not adequately cleaned. The bed was hard as a rock, and not comfortable to sleep in. The hotel-stay supposedly included breakfast, which consisted of a choice of stale pastries. We will never stay at this hotel again, and will warn others not to. This is a disgrace to the standard of quality you would expect from a hotel in Santa Barbara.
