Relaxing stay in a beautiful location at 5-star resort
We had a very relaxing weekend at the Bacara. Staff were hospitable, all very friendly and eager to help - despite the fact that 20% gratuity is automatically included in all bills the staff went above and beyond to treat us well. Rooms could have been cleaner for the rating of this hotel, however grounds were beautiful as was the location.

Short drive from hotel
Not too many options to dine at the hotel, so would recommend the short drive in to Santa Barbara, plenty of great resaurants on State Street and around that area.

typical hotel
this resort, on a beautiful cul-de-sac about 20 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara, has all the trappings (spa, pools, beach, health club, etc) but service is ordinary, and sometimes officious (waiter in dining room kept referring to "we," as in are "we" going to the restroom? Are we leaving? I really wanted to snap back, I am leaving, are you?) Valet service was subpar. Food was OK. For the price I was unimpressed.

great secluded place
we had another nice stay at bacara. the hotel is very nice with a good spa and awesome location on the beach. the room is comfortable and i would recommend the place to anyone.
