Classic hotel near everything
Gorgeous and elegant hotel in San Francisco. Close to shopping such as Union Square and The Baseball Stadium. Walking distance to SF Moma and Contemporary Jewish Museum as well as Moscone Convention Center. BEST MARTINI in town at Maxfield's. The Sunday brunch at $68 is over priced and they only had about 20 people in the dining room. This dining room is spectacular and I wish they would find a price point that would attract larger crowds. One big draw back is the walls to the rooms are very thin allowing you to hear things from your neighbor that may not be your cup of tea. The rooms themselves are wonderful with high ceilings and very spacious. The staff is professional and courteous.

The Experience Traveler
Great place, antiquated services
This hotel is fabulous and full of history, however; the concierge is slow, awful, rude, and totally non-productive. They can't help themselves, nevermind helping you. We would wait well over 30 minutes and get nothing but run aorunds with no accurate answers given on any of our questions.

Park at the hearst parking center around the corner from the hotel. It costs $20 PER day vs. $40 for hotel parking. However, there are no in and out priveleges.

Historical trip exploreing SF
Walk around SF plus a play. We did eat at nice restaurants but a restaurant guide would have helped. This trip was more spontaneous with the last trip being more planned.

My stay at the Palace Hotel was wonderful! The service and food was excellent during my stay I even able to get so work done as well the front desk was helpful with faxing business information for me at my stay at the Palace Hotel. Also the concerige was able to make assignments for dinner at one of the most favorite and enjoyable restaurants in San Franciso while I was site seeing in Saulito for a few hours and as made arrangements for a limousine for me and my party to dinner and to the airport. I will be return will other parties of friends to the Palace Hotel !

A Fabulous Hotel and A Great Location
Wonderful historic hotel in the heart of San Francisco. It is a great place for a weekend getaway in the city!

Use the Hearst Parking facility which is around the corner rather than park in the hotel. Hotel charges $48 per night while Hearst Parking is $20. You can't go in and out...but the hotel is so centrally located, just leave the car and take either BART or Cable Cars which are all near by.
