Friendly staff, very clean, good for single travelers. It could be better if the breakfast is a little better.

Inexpensive Chic Hotel Tucked in a relatively quiet corner in Union Square
The price can't be beat. Beds are really comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. In the room, I imagined the interior designer must have been an artsy type that painstakingly shopped for the perfect furniture pieces in antique stores and gave them all a major modern face-lift. There is jazz playing in a beautiful 2nd floor bar lounge every night! The hotel sits in a relatively quiet corner because there is a street tunnel right next to it...so not a lot of foot traffic and yet it is just steps away from everything union square offers. Plus, the staff is so incredibly professional and nice. The cons, as others have stated, are the incredibly loud garbage trucks that come at 4-5am. Tip: avoid the north side of the building (odd numbered rooms) to avoid the garbage truck noise.

Complimentary breakfast from 7am-10am is really worth it. Also live Jazz and dinner/cocktails every night on the second floor bar lounge.

Great location BUT
The location of this hotel is fantastic and right in the middle of everything. My main issue with this hotel is that the garbage men are seriously there at 5am and are there for hours. I had the worst time sleeping because of the loud noises produced and which echoes due to the placement of the hotel. If you are a heavy sleeper or don't mind getting up at 5am then I say this hotel is for you. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. The room itself is fine, the bathroom was clean but didn't smell sanitized. Again, you can't beat the location. Tip: google maps gives horrible directions on how to get to the hotel. Park at the parking structure which offers overnight parking for about $35 and go to the bottom floor which drops you right in front of the hotel.

Reasonable, nice, great location!
The hotel staff was very nice, other than the fact that even though you pay for your room ahead of time, they still take a card for "incidentels". This is fine, but there should be a clearly visible sign that notes you will be charged160.00 for those incidentels, and the difference in using a credit card and debit card should also be clearly noted. Without notification by hotel staff. Room was great, location awesome! Perfect for young couples!

Great spot for a solo traveler
The room was small and there aren't a lot of frills (I don't even think you could rent movies via the in-room flatscreen TV) ... that said, the location was perfect and the fact that breakfast was included was a real bonus.

great location
i got the junior suite, which was very basic, but room was clean so no complaints there. Staff was friendly and location was awesome..my friend and I were able to walk to union square, chinatown, etc with ease. liquor store is right next door and the hotel bar is pretty sweet. I highly recommend ear plugs though because the walls are thin and the area can get noisy at night..!

Great location, chic hotel
Hotel was modern and chic, in a great location in Union Square. Room was nice and clean (brick feature wall is a nice touch), with comfortable bed, but a bit noisy at night. Arm yourselves with ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
