Convenient location
Very close to the Presidio, Golden Gate Park, downtown & Ocean beach. There was a bit uncleanness, for example; coffee cup still had residue of lipstick, spill marks on lampshades, etc..

Weekend Getaway
We spent 2 fabulous, sunny days in San Francisco. It was our first stay at the Hotel Kabuki and we were not disappointed. The underground parking garage was convenient to the hotel, and only $23 for 24 hours. Park your car and take public transportation! We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great place
I was pleasantly surprised by this Hotel. I have rented rooms for 20 years in SF and it is tricky to find a nice place at a good price. This hotel is really nice and I love the Fillmore area and Japantown. Perhaps a little away from the touristy areas downtown but very nice. friendly staff helped me with faxes, finding a cheaper parking space. All in all a quiet, clean large nicely decorated room at a good price.

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
Great jazz clubs nearby on Fillmore e.g. Yoshi's. Also the Sundance movie theatre is great and 2 blks away and Fillmore going north is full of restaurants. A real neighborhood- nice part of SF (Pacific Heights)

Good place to stay
The room was very clean with a comfortable bed, the bathroom has a great soaking tub with a separate shower. I needed to do some work while there and appreciated the large desk with plenty of easy to access power outlets. The hotel is in the middle of Japantown so there's great food and fun shopping next to the hotel. There isn't a BART station nearby but there are buses to get you where you need to go. I had a great stay with only two small negatives: The weather was cold while I was there and window next to the bed was drafty. The other was I checked my luggage with doorman and they were hard to find later on. The door was unlocked so I was able to get my things myself but people's things we left unsecured. All in all a very good stay and good value.

Happy in Hotel Kabuki
This was our second time staying at the hotel. We love it - I think it's the best value in SF. Nice room with nice roomy bathroom / shower. My boyfriend and I like to put on our comfy walking shoes and walking or taking the bus around the city. We like walking to Golden Gate Park (a little more than a mile away), Walking to Nob Hill (1 mile), and taking the Geary bus downtown to union square, and the shops on Fillmore (nice spots to eat there too! This trip we didn't eat at any of the local Japanese restaurants, but there are many close by. The parknig at the mall was $22/day. Next time we come to SF I think we'll fly and bus around.

Solid comfort even though building feels old
The lobby, elevator and hallways feel old - this is an old apartment like building, but the bed is super comfortable and the room is nice enough. Bathroom is a little weird and cold, but I think it was a nice stay overall. Restaurant is dead, but the location is central enough to get around. I would return
