Funky SoMa hotel serves up retro style and custom burgers
With a whitewashed pop-culture style straight out of South Beach, the Americania is one of the funkiest hotels in all of San Francisco. the hotel was clean as well as the room we checked in. there was a gym I used..which was also proper! the pool area was nice. the pool was heated to 27 degrees celsuis. Awesome ;) the location of the hotel was good and the pier only e few min away goingby cap. overall it's worth it

Nice family getaway
We stayed there with three kids and they enjoyed the gym and pool a lot. As the pool is heated, they could use it even late in the evening for good two hours. The surroundings of the hotel is not the nicest. A lot of beggars and homeless so we did not feel very safe when walking out of the hotel and kept a close eye on them.

Very professional, friendly staff
The rooms were clean and conviently located area; however it was pretty noisy at night. We could here all of the foot traffic in the outside halls and the street traffic.

Not the cleanest room. It needs general cleaning. Walking distance to Union Square. $25 charge for parking. Retro style, but could be a little cleaner.

Been to much better hotel locations.
The best western is fine. it is everything else that really stinks which in turn reduces their ability to get call themselves a great getaway hotel. 1) room feels like as big as a broom closet. (but clean!) 2) it is not in a good area of SF, lots of transients, the smell of urine everywhere. ...need I say more. If you a woman traveling alone, I sure would not recommend it, I would not even want my children exposed to the area.

very good value,clean,modern
2 blocks from Market St and Muni & Bart. Federal Courthouse & office Bld next door but homeless are there too,don't seem to bother anyone. Motel is excellent,nicely furnished,very modern,rooms large,clean throughout,nice showers,flat screen TV,house keeping staff very friendly,helpful.Attached restaurant and separate cocktail lounge Will stay again for sure.

Good, but not great.
Overall I was happy with the room and service. I was not expecting to have to pay seperately for parking. Very retro styling, which may not be for everyone. My wife loved having the exercise facility.
