Great Visit To SD!
Our stay at the US Grant was great. The location is perfect! 2 blocks away is 5th Ave which has both great shopping and restaurants, and a 15 min walk to the water. Could not have asked for better. The staff was very nice and the room was clean. My only complaint was you had to pay almost $12 for 24 hrs of wi-fi! I cannot believe that was not an included. That would make a big difference!

Great stay!
This hotel is located right in the middle of downtown San Diego and was perfect for us. There were so many wonderful restaurants that we went to and never walked more than a block. Anytime we needed a suggestion of a place to go the front desk was always helpful and never gave us a bad place to go. The whole staff was super friendly and was always so ready to help. I wouldn't want to say anywhere else this place was perfect for us.

Not really a 5-star hotel as it described
We got a handicapped room in the first place, which we don't know why. Then there is a serious water pump problem in the shower room and we waited for almost an hour for a room change. The manager didn't even apologize to us. We need to call several times to even get a compensation. Ooooh, one more thing, there is a yellow stain on my pillow in bed!!! How ridiculous!!! Lots of 4-star hotels perform way better than this one. Think twice before you try it!

All in all, decent stay
The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff was incredible. A downfall we had here was size of the room. They are very small, almost to the point that it felt uncomfortable. So I don't believe I got a good deal for the amount the room cost. The restaurant was very very good and the staff there was the best I have seen.

Superb service
The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The service is outstanding and in some way even better than the other 5 star hotel chains I've stayed before. The only negative is the in-room heating/cooling system which was loud and doesn't keep the room temperature constant.. it was either too cold or too hot when adjusting the thermostat by only 1 degree.

Getting old.
Still a great hotel, service is superb. But the building itself is getting old, you can tell by the elevator and hallways. I would try a newer 5-star hotel for the same price next time.

An awesome overnight stay!
The hotel was amazing! The decor is stunning and classy, and the staff was nothing short of amazing. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but room service was quick and delicious (and even somewhat reasonably priced for room service rates!) The room was large and comfortable and incredibly clean. They have a limited number of rooms with bathtubs, however, so if that's your thing, call ahead and make sure you request one. I checked out the fitness center and wasn't wildly impressed - it's in a small basement room, with no ventilation. I also didn't notice any kind of pool - but there was an on-site spa.

Customer service stinks
Had to change the date of my stay and they wouldn't allow it (even with 3 weeks notice), so had to pay for a room that wasn't used. It's quite simple when hotel and booking agent aren't willing to help - YOU GO ELSEWHERE.
