terrible
spiders, ripped sheets, noise across the hall, smoke in non smoking rooms, drapes with holes. Pretty much sums it up. For the money I paid I could have been 5 miles out further but gotten a much better room

the not so good
the hotel was dirty! ran out of t.p.! and the pool smelled like a swamp!!

don't do it. it's gross, it's dirty, it smells, it's stained. I didn't want any of my clothing to touch any surface. I am quite sure something awful has happened within those walls!

Visit Family
The hotel is situated just off Interstate 5. There was a shopping center nearby that offered Starbucks. But the overall area was a bit rundown. The ocean is up the road only a mile or so away. We stayed here because it was close to family who live in Imperial Beach. But if I was on vacation I wouldn't recommend it. It would be an alright stay for over-nighters who are continuing on. We did find a least two bugs in the room but overall it was clean. We stayed for 3 nights and each day the service cleaned the room and made the beds. The female desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. At night you knew you weren't in a good area because the lobby was locked and you had to converse with the night attendant through a security window near the pool. If we visit family again I will be staying at a better hotel further away if needed.

Cheap and Acceptable
We were there to visit Silver Strand State Beach and family staying there. Motel is located in the middle of downtown Imperial Beach. Not noisy in room, but neighborhood looked very questionable. Staff was friendly. Surprisingly nice continental breakfast. Definitely not anything luxurious, but economical for a quick overnight stay with the kids by the beach.

Close to beach, but run down!
Breakfast was a joke, hardly anything to choose from. Not enough outlets in room, we had to unplug lights and other things just to have a place to charge our camera, and cell phones. Curtains shabby, and pillows were flat as a pancake. Shower only had scalding HOT water. Air conditioner kept shutting off, and it was very hard to keep room cool. Only good thing was it was close to the beach!
