Wasn't the best
This hotel has a fantastic location, right by the marina and next to Seaport Village, the convention center, and a number of wonderful downtown attractions. However, the room itself was truly lacking for the price. First off, we weren't even given a choice as to the size/configuration of the bed/beds. We ended up with two double beds even though we're a couple. It's tight fitting two people into a double bed. Second, the bathroom was really, really small, with a very average tub. Not only that, but there was a clog in the tub that made water back up when showering, which isn't the best experience. Third, the beds weren't comfortable at all. The springs seemed to be super extended, making every move feel like it's going to make you bounce off the bed. The sheets were pretty uncomfortable, and there were no blankets provided, only the comforter. The wifi was not free, which is really weird these days since it's free at places like McDonald's. There also was no breakfast amenity to be had, nor any airport shuttle, which is a shame, since the airport is so close. Not bad for a normal hotel, but for the price we really were expecting more in comfort. On the other hand, the view was fantastic, while the swimming pools were amazing and huge. Overall experience could have been a lot better for the price.

The hotel was great, food was good and aside from the elite desk slowness nothing went wrong! Location was nice and if able to walk it was very central to Sea Port Village, the Gaslamp area, Petco park and a shopping mall! Location Location Location

Great location, beautiful pool/spa
We came here on a quick weekend vacation. Spent most of the time in the hot tub, which was great. I wish they had the pool service for food and drink in the hot tub. The only complaint we had was the lack of free wifi in the rooms, and no fan in the bathroom. Other than that, it was a fantastic place to stay!

Awesome Family Vacation
The Marroitt Marquis & Marina was a great location and wonderful facility. We had a awesome trip and the location made it so easy to get around San Diego. Being on the Marina it so easy to walk to Seaport Village or the Gaslamp for dinner or to catch the Green-Line to Little Italy or the ferry to Coronado we had it all . The hotel is big and the pool area beautiful. We loved the heated areas around the pool for a cool night outdoors. Starbucks on site was a plus in the morning as the Marina Kitchen for other dining needs. The service was top notch! We will stay again.

Loved the Marriott Marquis and Marina!
Loved this hotel! Very luxurious and the staff were great. I'd definitely stay in the South Tower again even though there isn't a balcony. We were booked for the North Tower and after 1 night asked to be moved to the South Tower. The North Tower is older and the mattress was terrible. The South Tower was newer and cleaner, the mattress was infinitely better, and the newly renovated restaurant was right down stairs. The pool area at this place is AMAZING! It felt very similar to Hawaii with all of the lush foliage. I would definitely stay again! The only things we were unhappy with were: 1) housekeeping didn't leave toilet paper one day and we had to wait an hour for the down stairs to send some up. 2) once at breakfast we had to wait 10 minutes for a server and had to go ask to be helped. 3) housekeeping one day didn't arrive until 4:30 to clean and by then we were back for the day so we had to go somewhere. She also asked to not have to change the sheets because it was almost time for her to go home. Other than that this place is great! Very centrally located. We flew into town and took taxi's where ever we went. I'll definitely stay again!

Short walk from hotel
Don't rent a car if you come here. It's very centrally located. We took Taxi's to the Zoo and to Sea World and saved a ton in not renting a car/paying nightly to park at the hotel.
