Comfortable

The room was very comfortable. This was great since the Art Fair was in town and we did a lot of walking. Yoga daily @ 9:00am was great for working out the kinks. Restaurants everywhere within walking distance. The only draw back was that the hotel is very close to the airport and the planes fly directly over the hotel.

Great location, great price, great stay!

Loved the location in the middle of Little Italy. Easy walk to lots of restaurants and bars. Our room had a balcony overlooking the area and we could see to the water. Free breakfast was a bonus!

Great place to stay

This was a great place to stay for us. We did mostly sightseeing so the size of the room and not having a pool was not a problem for us. The hotel was located just above Little Italy and near the harbor so the dining was great as well as being close to a lot of sightseeing opportunities. The rooftop area was beautiful and the view was fantastic. It was close to the airport but noise was not a problem

The good and Bad

Hotel was clean and nice. Furniture was old though, didn't even have flat screen T.v. On the plus side they did have Premium channels like HBO. Gave us two beds when i ordered just one king.

Great place...Great Location

Ponte Vista is centrally located to all the great attractions in San Diego. If places were a little distant, there was a train available to accomodate the trips. Liked the style of the hotel.

Good for the price

Good motel type place. Spotless rooms. Friendly staff. Close to little Italy. Some noise from the nearby airport, though not audilble from the rooms. A downside is that the only window in the room faces the hallway and inside parking space.

Great hotel for the price

The hotel had superb service. Everyone was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends. The only other downfall to the entire stay was that we had asked the front desk 4 times to have the refrigerator in our room looked at because they weren't working and they said it would be looked into. After the 4th time and finally seeing the maintenance manager working elsewhere in the hotel, we asked about the fridge. He stated that most of the refrigerators on our floor were not working due to a surge that knocked out their power. If only someone would have told us this initially, I wouldn't have wasted some of my time.

San Diego Vacation

This was a nice hotel with an awesome location and price. The rooms look like the pictures. Yes the TV is not the biggest; however, was not there to watch TV. The restaurant is a little understaffed, but the breakfast with the hotel is really good and the staff is very polite. The restaurant also has a pretty view. I would recommend this hotel and definitely stay again!

Great value and location

The Internet service is not available in all rooms due to inadequate transmission; it is free in the lobby. Glass walled bathroom and high window are stylish but allows early light so it's hard to sleep very late.

A Great Home Base

If you are looking for a good price on a decent hotel in a good location to use as a home base while in SD- book this hotel. While it is not nearly as upscale as the photos and description portray, it is clean, fairly quite, has good size rooms, and the location is great. I would say it is a good value, as long as you aren't looking for lots of amenities and pampering. It seems that they spent all of their remodel dollars on the reception area; the common areas are a bit motor-inn like, and the rooms and service are just okay. But- it does have the basics, and it is very central and easy to get to pretty much any of SD's attractions from here. The Little Italy area a block away has plenty restaurants, shops and services for when you get back from your day out... and this beats the daylight out of staying in touristy/tacky Hotel Circle-Mission Valley, the a bit seedy downtown area, or the over-crowded beach areas. These places are all close to Little Italy, but in the end you will be thankful that you chose to stay in one of the city's great 'real people' neighborhoods over one of the tourist spots.

Take the light rail to go downtown, the ballparks, or shopping- it is cheap, safe, easy, and close by.
