Inexpensive but needed a little more
The hotel is inexpensive and has a lot of conveniences, including location, on site restaraunts, and a large heated pool and jacuzzi. The room was adequate, but smelled a little musty and had hairs of unknown origin on the bathroom counter. The hotel is a good value, but that encouraged a lot of less than ideal neighbors who were young, rowdy, and smoked freely around the property and in front of non-smoking rooms. Overall, it wasn't a horrible place to stay, especially for the price, but I don't think ill be back. On the plus side, staff at the front desk and Mexican restaraunt were friendly and helpful.

Needs Improvement
Location is excellent. It was close to shopping mall, food, entertainment, and major attraction parks. The worsted part about the hotel is their bed quality. You will need what you save on their room rates to fix your back at a chiropractic office!

Full Time RVer
Rated a 2 Star, but should be more
I think this place is rated a 2 star because it's dated in decor, but it's location, pricing, and staff should bring it to maybe a 3 or even a 4. Don't come thinking it's a "resort" with lots of those type of amenities, but if your looking for a CLEAN place close to the attractions in San Diego, this is the place. Restaurants are OK, but pricy for the food they have and we didn't get to the pool and hot tub, so I can't say about those.

Good value for the price
The hotel is somewhat dated, but it's clean, safe and the staff is friendly. The pool/courtyard is beautiful. We had a good experience at the Waffle House for breakfast too...........good food and friendly staff. The hotel sits conveniently to Sea World and Balboa Park. Good place to stay in San Diego.

Good family value
The Hotel was a great value. The staff was friendly. The pool and hot tub were nice. The only real downside was the bathroom. The toilet/shower room was small. The shower head was very low and the water pressure left a lot to be desired.

great place
I would and have recommended this hotel to everyone I have spoken too, since our stay last week.. Over all fantastic find..location couldnt be any better, and the staff are the most helpful I have come across, they have covered everything, down to direction cards for area attractions..

Excellent Service!!!
Although this is an older hotel, it is in great condition, and the staff make up for it! Kings Inn has a breakfast/lunch restaurant called "The Waffle Spot" and a dinner restaurant/bar called "The Amigo Spot". Great food and music! While checking in, Yvette was more than helpful! When we got to our room, there was a bit of an issue with the a/c, and also wanted to upgrade to a suite anyways, and Ana at the front desk upgraded us for free since there was an issue. She was so kind about the situation and bent over backwards to accommodate us. These two ladies are the prime example of what customer service should be! We ate at "The Amigo spot" for dinner, and my husband ordered the arroz con pollo and said it was the best he'd ever had and asked to give his thanks to the chef. At "The Waffle Spot" I had waffles with eggs Benedict on top. It was amazing! When we return to San Diego, we will ALWAYS stay at The Kings Inn!!
