Howard Johnson Inn San Diego Hotel Circle

The jacuzzi needed to be cleaned. The elevator wasn't working and could hear the people above us as they walked around.

Staff was rude on more than one occasion. The elevator was out of service, but there was no sign advising that. Had to carry suitcases down 4 flights of stairs. Room had lots of traffic noise due to ill fitting doors. The continental breakfast had very few choices, and noone was on hand to replenish supplies which were grudgingly refilled after a walk to the front desk. We will book into a different hotel next time.

For what I paid I have to admit I was extremely impressed with my stay here. Out room had a mini fridge and a microwave the ac was amazing the shower was very clean with great water pressure. On top of all these wonderful surprises the front desk man met all my needs. I groaned at the 11am checkout and he promptly offered me noon check out I did not even need to ask. He made sure we were aware of the breakfast times and described it to us well. He even gave us his forks from his lunch(they were clean!) to use to eat in our since the hotel does not purchase forks. Overall I was more than satisfied I was highly impressed with all the service!

Room was next to freeway but the double-pain windows knocked down most of the noise, but it was still quite noisy. The facility is old and tired and the room looks it. My blanket was some synthetic rubber-like material that was torn and had what looked like cigarette holes in it. The room was non-smoking and there was no smoke odor. My wife said the WiFi signal was weak and intermittent and therefore of no use. The carpet felt somewhat sticky to my bare feet, so I wore socks or shoes. No evidence of bed bugs! Plenty of shopping nearby and Old Town is just down the road a couple of miles. Fridge was super cold, forming ice on our bottled water. Didn't try the microwave. We won't stay at another Howard Johnson's.

Very old, don't listen to the good reviews. The breakfast is a joke! No waffles, old pastries. I would never stay here again. I wouldn't even have given this hotel the one star but i could not leave it blank. The pool was in a corner with no sun facing it, this hotel is extremely old and run down.

First night had me wondering as a couple of hours after we checked in someone else walked into or room. When their keys were disabled ours were too but we didn't know it until the next day when we returned from church. Room is spacious, maids extremely frriendly, room is clean but worn. we are on second floor by elevator as my husband is in a wheelchair. Upstairs halls could be wider as is difficult getting in and out of room and on elevator.

The hotel was a great location!! everything was close by! I keep going back to this hotel every time I go to San Diego. I've tried other places but this is the cleanest and nicest one at a reasonable price I could find. I have no complaints :)

The hotel was nothing special, but that was totally fine. We were just looking for a place to sleep, and it had a bed. There was a small, sketchy looking pool/hot tub that looked pretty unused, and the continental breakfast was a joke, but other than that things were fine. There was a fridge and a microwave in the room that came in handy, as well as your other standard hotel accommodations.

Hotel was in the middle of hotel circle and minutes from sea world beaches gaslamp district and several freeways. Room was a little freeway noisy but not detractable. We did have some wifi issues and the pillows are very flat. But hotel was good value for money.
