Great one night stay
This was my second time staying at a Doubletree and it has not disappointed! The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the location was perfect and the warm cookies upon arrival were a fantastic perk! The view from our balcony wasn't bad either! Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Great Value!
We only stayed for 2 nights, but I would absolutely book this hotel again in the future. Front desk staff was extremely friendly, you're given a delicious warm cookie to welcome you upon arrival, the room was simple but very comfortable, and the location is great. On Saturdays during the summer, there is a street fair/Farmer's Market type event on the street behind the hotel, and you're just blocks away from some wonderful dining opportunities in Little Italy (I recommend breakfast at Pappalecco, myself). If you want a bit more of a walk, the Horton Plaza mall is about a mile away and there is some great shopping there. Overall, the price was right and the hotel was great, and the free shuttle to the airport on the day of our departure was the icing on the cake. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Quick stopover in San Diego
Free shuttle to airport. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location - walkable to many restaurants. Nice room, but wish they hadn't given us one overlooking the highway.

Decent accomodations for cheap price
The hotel is clearly very old, but for the price it was worth it. The parking garage is terrifying because the aisles are so narrow and you can tell hundreds of people have crashed their cars in there. They also charge you an additional $25 for parking...sucky. However if you are up for the walk it is technically walking distance to gaslamp. Also the radio didn't work, there was no air or fans, and the balcony's are disgusting. BUT if you are going to gaslamp to party and don't need to be in the room for long this is a great place! Beds were comfy!

excellent all around
We were there for one night only w/ 2 young children, very chic and hip lobby, warm cookies upon arrival, lemon water dispenser in lobby, excellent restaurant, we were there on a saturday and they had a great happy hour: half price appetizers and drinks, and free quesadillas tilll 7PM which was great w/ the little ones b/c we did not have to leave the hotel to have a great dinner (the dinner menu was great too) after a long day of sightseeing. Breakfast was great too. It is in a great location, a 10 minute walk to the water. Two negative things : it costs $20 to park at the hotel, but I easily found street parking and the bed was a little too soft, but I would still stay there again.

The restaurant
The hotel is nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable -- especially the bed! The bar tenders were great! The morning breakfast is good, but it is expensive. We all thought the restaurant at dinner was terrible. We tried two nights in a row and it's just awful food. Everything else about the hotel is fine, but for all 3 of us to agree, two nights in a row about the food, is inexcusable. Other than that, it's a good hotel and a good location. I do think the hotel and food are over-priced.

Comfortable Stay
We were greeted with a large, warm chocolate chip cookie when we checked in. Room was large and clean. Toilet was stopped up, but maintenance was there within minutes to change a part. Location was very central, but a little noise from freeway. Walking distance to Saturday's farmers market and Little Italy. We loved being so close many things and relied solely on public transportation. Would stay again.

Confernce stay
The conference and hotel were mostly great, really good location. The only complaint would be that some of the wait staff in the restaurant aren't very organized.
