Good Times - Catamaran
I booked a three night stay at the Catamaran Resort and Spa. The grounds are very beautiful, and they have tropical birds and fish. It is a great ambiance. I was upgraded free of charge to a bayside view (from a deluxe garden view). It was a great view, but people would go past the door constantly because the sidewalk is public. There was a very loud bachelorette party on the beach directly outside our door one night. The free boat that takes you out on the bay has real potential for a fun time if you take it. The room itself was cleaned and the staff came in for cleaning and restocking everyday. The floor and mattress was stained and not especially comfortable. The staff were friendly and flexible.

Spring Break Trip
Me and a friend of mine stayed at the Catamaran for 5 nights and 6 days. It was absolutely beautiful. The hotel itself was exotic with a waterfall and animals such as parrots and ducks everywhere. The staff was very friendly. We even got checked in 3 hours prior to check in time. The pool was a good size and there was a hot tub. We also went on a complimentary cruise provided by the hotel. The most important thing was the location of the hotel. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach and it was extremely close to restaurants and shops, which made it very easy for us since we did not have a car. The hotel also provides bike and segway rentals; although a little expensive compared to nearby shops. My only criticism is that things in the hotel are on the expensive side, like the breakfast and drinks by the pool. In a nutshell, the hotel was way better than we expected and I was more than happy we got it for the price we paid.

not what I expected
The location of this hotel is good. Near PB and on Mission Bay. The room, however was not as nice as I expected. I got a "deal" although I've paid less for much nicer rooms. It smelled old in the room and decor was outdated.

Go with the Bay View Room
We had a great time at the Catamaran Resort and will go back again. The Bay View Rooms are literally steps away from the sand, the lounge and resturant serve great food, but do have "Resort Prices" Staff was all warm and welcoming. Passes to get on the Bahia Belle were a great surprise too! The only dissappointment besides the amount of money we spent on food and cocktails was the $13.00 a night parking fee.

Tiki lite theme
I needed a last minute hotel. I wish I had more time to research the hotel. The Catamaran Resort and Spa has a tropical theme with a large rock waterfall in the lobby surrounded by fake plants and trees. The rooms have every impractical bad idea from the early hotel design; television in the armoire, pedestal sink. double beds, no readable thermostat. The restaurant offers overpriced and readymade food. There was nothing genuine or valuable in the experience. I can't wait NOT to go again.
