Meh stay
Nothing really good about this stay, but nothing really bad. Honestly just a "meh" experience. If i had to describe this hotel in one word however it would be "cheap". signs in the room saying if you take anything you'll be charged. Everything in the room is bare minimum. The door for example. It locks, but it has no swinging door bar gaurd. I thought those suckers were standard at hotels. also, they use straight up keys for their rooms, not cards. And this is just the door. the whole room has the "cheapness" feel to it. television, carpet, toiletries in the bathroom, sheets, pillows #a wopping 2 pillows for a queen bed...# etc. etc. etc. Like i said, nothing REALLY wrong with my stay, but i doubt ill be returning.

We love the secure feeling of this hotel. Once inside the gates, the grounds are beautiful. We asked for extra blankets and towels and received them right away. We loved having a little kitchenette. It was perfect for our needs and priced well.

good for a budget concern traveller
consider La Jolla, the price is low and value is good. Management try to make a old hotel runs well. It is very close to freeway exist, surrounding is not impressive but ok.

I choose this one due to the price is good, but the price quoted doesn't include tax, also the internet is $6.95/day extra, The room and bath room is clean, the hotel is old, but maintain in a good order. The pool is maintained in good order too. Their breakfast include fruit, instant oat meal, juice, coffee, danish, croisant, but the disposable cup they provide is not safe for hot drink, so better prepare your own.

Nice convenient no frills
People at the desk were very helpful, but it's a bit old looking, though rooms are clean and fairly well furnished, just not comortable.

Affordable and Convient
This is a no frills hotel, very close to the center of San Diego. For the price, I got everything I needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and had both a microwave and mini fridge. This isn't a fancy place, but it was clean and easy to get to all the best places in San Diego.

affordable place to stay
i stayed twice. the first time the staff was friendly and my room, 1014 was very cute with a nice view. the next stay my reservation, which i had made in person 2 days prior, was for the wrong day and they charged me a higher rate then they quoted me (second stay was not through cheap tickets). the room the put me in was 218. it was horrible. all i could hear was rushing by traffic all night with no view. the tv was less than half the size of the first and was all in blue and greens only. both beds were very hard. giant closets though! average stay

I chose this hotel because it is inexpensive and its location (midway between La Jolla and downtown San Diego) was perfect for my recent trip. I found it to be clean, pretty, conveniently located (just off the 805 freeway), and a great value for a low price. The staff was friendly and efficient and the amenities (pool, hot tub, breakfast, parking, refrigerator, and microwave) were all there--why pay double for less space and fewer amenities? I also liked the extra storage space (shelves, large closet, etc.) at California Suites.

Good value for money
Good value for money. Clean hotel rooms. The receptionist attitude can be improved, found her to be rude! She didn't co-operate with us at all.
