Tired, but fits like an old shoe
Location is excellent; a short walk to Mission Beach and its eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc. Upon check in I was given a key to my Bay "VIEW" room. It was at least 30 years old, smelled and had a view of gleason road, and beyond it the south cove. In a word, it was unacceptable. So I went back to the front desk, asking for an alternative. This time I was offered a Bay "FRONT" room, but it would be an additional $35 / night. I usually talk my way into the free upgrade, but there was no budging. I agreed to the upcharge and we went to the Bay "FRONT" room. This room was better, only about 12-15 years from its last update, and was directly on the cove (facing westerly), with a small sandy beach and some lounge chairs. In the end, it is what it is...My average $163 / night for 3 nights (plus taxes), became $198 / night plus taxes. Upon checking out, I asked if there was a computer available for printing boarding passes. There was, but upon completion, I was told there was a $.10/page fee for printing. I felt this was the ultimate nickel and dime... We don't regret going, but don't plan to stay here again. I called my uncle, who has lived in San Diego for 40 years, and when he asked where we were staying, commented: "Well, that was quite the property 30 years ago". To which I said: "yes, and you can still see it in its original state"...

Mom-to-be from WA
Price was right, good location
We didn't spend a whole lot of time hanging out at the hotel. But when we were there the kitchenette was nice to have. The bed was comfortable. It was walking distance to the beach and places to eat. Some things that would make ones stay even better would be a free continental breakfast, better quality coffee in the rooms, cleaner shower curtains (ours was filthy). Other than that i would say our stay was average. Nothing too bad, but nothing exceptional either. I think next time we will stay at the Best Western.

I would go back in a heart beat. It's an older hotel. But they take care of the place and the service we received was excellent. Price was right. Location was great.

Bahia
The hotel staff did not help with anything we needed. Guest service did not accomidate simple things such as tooth paste or a tooth brush. Breakfest was not free the only food was a buffet that was over priced and not worth the cost. They advertise a great beach with a boat which you can eat on. The boat was closed and the beaches were nothing to talk good about. They had botteled water in the hotel room, (Aquafina) which was $5.00 if you wanted to drink it. Terrible hotel, I would rather have been at a super 8.

Don't stay at the Bahia
I have stayed in nicer rooms at a motel 6. You really need to tell this hotel to update and CLEAN the rooms. They look cheap and they smell worse then an army tent that is occupied by ten smelly grunts. That should tell you what you need to know because I'm in the army and still can't believe I wasted my money on that place. I will never stay there again and you should not put them on your site

Excellent service at Hotel Bahia. [...] The Bar had very good food. We stayed in a Bay View Suite with kitchenette, and it was big. The microwave, fridge, oven etc all functional and useful.

Excellent weekend getaway
We enjoyed our stay at the Bahia Resort, we got a room with bay view however, it wasn't much of a view because of the palm trees.
