We came for one night. The price was great, the location is fantastic (we could walk to dinner and to Old Town), the free breakfast one awesome, and all the staff were very nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again. We could even bring our dog!

When I first arrived at the inn, I discovered that it was almost right underneath the freeway, which worried me about sound. It turned out my concerns over noise were unfounded and I got a restful night sleep every night, though someone with their stereos turned up all the way or on a motorcycle with a jet engine would occasionally exit off the freeway. The location happened to be a nice location. While not directly by any shopping venues, the downtown mall was within a block of walking distance. There was also a restaurant next to the inn. Old Sacramento was also within walking distance. Every place I needed to or wanted to get to was a short drive (~5 min). Overall, I enjoyed the location and while I might desire an even more central location, the price can't be beat. Checking in was a smooth transition with the front desk and staff members were helpful. While it was a slight annoyance to be bothered by a ringing phone when the staff were trying to check in on my room regardless of the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door, it only happened once and after speaking with one of the cleaning ladies, I wasn't bothered. The room itself was simple and clean, nothing fancy or inspiring. A nice "queen" sized bed, ancient CRT TV, a shower w/ tub, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and desk were in the room. Outside of the room, the inn had a clean pool and jacuzzi, fitness room, and a business center in the lobby. I made use of the pool and the jacuzzi during a warm evening while I was here and it was wonderful. The ice machine on my floor (3rd) was out of order. A pleasant surprise was the complimentary breakfast which included toast, waffles, eggs, sausage, and potatoes. These are the types of amenities I only expect in three-star hotels and even then some of those things aren't available. I will definitely stay here again when I need a room in downtown Sacramento.

This modest hotel has clean, quiet, rooms, and a great location. Walking distance to Old Town, the State Capitol, and AMTRAK, the hotel is also right off of Highway 5, with plenty of free parking and a good free breakfast. All staff were friendly and efficient.

Great Location at a reasonable price and a nice breakfast too. Easy walking distance to Amtrak Station, Old Sacramento, State Railroad Museum, and the Capitol made this the perfect hotel for our weekend getaway.

Rolled into Sac for a meeting downtown,missed the turn ,this place is right off the freeway so you have to pay attention, be in the left turn lane ,no big deal though. Went to check in and the front desk said our room was no smoking,Showed the girl my paperwork with smoking request. She was nice said no problem and took care of it. Room was clean and smelling good (now for a smoking room sometimes that is rare) Breakfast was above what I expected, sausage, scrambled eggs,fresh waffles and the staff was nice.One thing though is the iron leaked on my shirt. Old town Sac is walking distance under the freeway but theres not much going on here.They roll up the the streets early here, no 7-11's close buy.No Dennys, place is closed,now called Pedros. alot of closed business's.All in all good place to stay for the money. Would stay here again but I hope I wont have to go back to Sac..Cowtown!

I am satisfied by staying here. Noise can be an issue for people who are sensitive to it. It is not close the freeway, train station. But it is convenient, easy to get to places. WIFI is very good, speed is fantastic. Can streaming video like a breeze. The entrance is actually on J street, not on 3rd street.

Only stayed one night but found motel comfortable and clean. Great location to Old Sacramento, which we loved. Would recommend as a good stopover. had free parking and easy to get to.

Our stay was outstanding. We arrived early to attend the music festival. We were allowed to check-in early so we could park our car and not worry about having to move later. Our room was clean, comfortable and even though we were next to the stairs it was very quiet. We will definatly be back on our next visit to Sacramento.

The location was PERFECT. Didn't even take our car - took AMTRAK and just walked over to the Vagabond. Old Sacramento was the Main reason for our Visit and it was just outside our front door. The morning Breakfast Buffet was just Perfect. Considering the cost of eating out, this feature alone, was worth the price of the room. Everything you could ask for - Homemade Waffles, Fresh Fruit, Muffins, Milk, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Toast, Coffee, Cereal, Pastries - you name it. And, you could eat inside, or take your tray outside by the beautiful Pool. What a fun Vacation we had.
