The California State Capitol building is just blocks away from the 16-story Holiday Inn Sacramento – Capitol Plaza hotel and conference center. Great downtown location

This hotel was a perfect one night stay, we walked from the hotel to old sac, and all the way to 28th street as well. It was perfect for a one night stay. The room was fine, staff was nice. It is obviously not a high end hotel, but I have no complaints, and if you are simply staying a night or weekend, it is a great price. It was decent and clean, and had nice staff, that is what counts when looking for a more affordable room.

Old Sacramento is right through a tunnel, the K street mall is right out the door, and downtown is just a walk away.

forgot wake up call!

All in all my stay was fine. However, I personally requested a wake-up call for my last morning there and never got it! Good thing I woke up on my own to catch my early morning flight!!

Nice Hotel... a little pricey

The hotel was very nice but a little on the pricey side. My only major complaints were that you could hear traffic noise in the room and the curtains did not block out all the sun light in the morning.

Great couples retreat or business retreat

Enjoyed the room and the restaurant. it was so quiet and the beds were so comfortable. I was surprised that it was a smoking room but it was not too strong an odor but that would be my only disappointment.

I would NOT stay there again

Staff is lazy especially at desk. Valet parking cost us $ 16.-- which we thought was ewxcessive.

Our third visit

Sacramento is an overnight visit & we keep going back to Holiday Inn. Location is perfect: Old town & the mall are walking distance so no car needed. Staff is very nice & the only complaint is length of time to register. Always one person on the desk & it seems to take her forever to get us registered. The lounge is attractive & convenient but when we were there at 7:30 PM not a clean table in sight & the bartender was way too busy to wait on us at the bar. So we left. But those are really the only complaints.

The Back Door Lounge on Firehouse Alley was a great find. Friendly staff with great food. Open for breakfast at 9 am. A small place probably favored by the locals. Loved it.

Fantastic stay with excellent service.

This hotel is very clean with an amazing location and friendly staff. The food in the restaurant was also very good and my child ate for free when I ordered from the menu.

Very Noisey

The hotel is in a very good location. It is close to Old Town and its shops and has plenty of dining in the area. The hotel is very nice and clean. It has all the services that you may want. However, the rooms that face the freeway are very noisey. We did not get a good night sleep for the noise from the freeway that did not abate all night.
