Very Clean & Comfortable

The Best Western Sutter House was very clean & well equipped. The room was large, the bed was very comfortable, and I liked the secure feeling that there was no outside entrance to the hallways & rooms; only through the lobby & up the elevator. The hotel was close to many restaurants, shopping and the Capital. The gentleman who assisted me at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Although my stay was very brief, I was very impressed with my entire experience.

good value

The Best Western Sutter House was comfortable and clean. They provide wireless internet access which was very important for my trips to Sacramento for relocating to the area. Also they provided the continental breakfast which is always a nice touch. It was in a convenient location for my purposes. Staff always very friendly. Would stay here again.

Great location

Since we traveled to California by train, this hotel was a great location so near the Amtrak Station and also to car rental location. The rooms were clean, comfortable and roomy. The only disappointment we encountered was that the Italian restaurant Sophia was closed on Sunday night (the night we were there) and we had to walk several blocks to find another restaurant. We were looking forward to some good Italian food and ended up eating at a brewery. I would recommend this restaurant to those visiting Sacramento since it is close to many tourist sites and also very accessible to the Interstate 5 that will take you north to wine country.

Great winery in Upper Lake right on Clear Lake called Ceago. Some of the best wine we have ever tasted (we had a case shipped back home). About a two hour drive from Sacramento but the drive is beautiful and scenic, especially when you get off of Interstate and start the ascent into the hills.

Convenient Location

I first noted that the parking garage felt secure as they had smiley face signs up notifying everyone that they had cameras. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked that to get to the rooms you had to go through the lobby. The decor was nice and the room was clean. The beds were comfortable and the pillows nice and soft. The hotel is not very far from Old Sacramento where we visited prior to checking in. That evening we went to a very nice fondue restaurant called The Melting Pot and it was only 4 blocks away. We asked if we would feel safe walking back from the restaurant to the hotel in the evening as we weren't familiar with the neighborhood. The staff informed us there was lots of activity and foot traffic around this area due to the restaurants, bars and cafes in this area. They were right and it was nice to just be able to walk the short distance instead of trying to find parking. The continental breakfast was very generous.

NIce hotel, convenient to historic & downtown Sacramento

Best Western Sutter House in Sacramento was a pleasant surprise. Very conveniently located about 4 blocks from our trade show at the Sacramento Convention Center. The hotel design is very secure (important to women travelers, seniors & families). The lobby and garage are on the ground floor and the only entrance to the rooms, pool & breakfast is through the lobby. The lobby elevator takes you up to the 2nd & 3rd floor where rooms either face the pool, street, or parking lot for the restaurant next door. The room was newly re-furbished and very comfortable. The room was adequately large enough for the pillow top king size bed, loveseat, armoire & desk, complete with Fax machine and free wireless internet. Our only complaint is that the marble floor in the bathroom was very cold!

Sacramento's historic waterfront district is a very short ride from the hotel. Cobblestone streets,1800's style buildings, paddlewheel steamer hotel, plank sidewalks, antique trains, quaint stores and lots of great restaurants make this several block area a very popular tourist destination on the riverfront.

Nice Place with a Few Problems

Best Western Suttter home was a nice place with a few exceptions. The bathroom had a very strong cigarette smoke smell and the hotel was completely non-smoking. Hardly any hot water pressure was available to take a shower. The room was decorated very nice and the bed felt incredible really enjoyed the set up with the exceptions I encountered.

My review of Best Western Sutter House

The Best Western Sutter House has a very friendly and knowledgable staff, very clean and comfortable accomodations, and ample parking for guests. We really appreciated the spacious rooms, the very comfortable bed, and spacious bathroom with long counter, not to mention the warming light in the shower room. Well worth the price we paid!

good business location

The Best Western Sutter House is good for the value I paid. It's clean and comfortable enough. I liked the two queen bed and the comfortable chair at the corner. I was looking for microwave though and I don't like the area where the phone and the machine to order the movie was palced(at the very corner). When i ordered a movie to watch, i can't see the television screen from the corner where the instruction is flashed and i can't drag the phone because the wiring is too short. but other than that, it's a good stay with a very good breakfast.
