Distinctive, elegant Palm Springs resort and spa offers style and luxury
Designed in a modern interpretation of Regency style, Viceroy Palm Springs features artistically manicured grounds, private villas and exquisite pool areas. The resort's stylish decor pairs sleek furnishings with classic sculpture and mixes bright yellow accents with cooling white interiors. First opened in the 1930s, the hotel has been extensively revamped without losing its classic Hollywood charm. Guests stroll through the gardens and courtyards, luxuriate by the stunning pools and enjoy gourmet selections in the hotel's signature restaurant.
- Within walking distance to downtown Palm Springs
- Distinctive Regency-inspired decor
- Signature restaurant serving gourmet dishes with local organic ingredients
The hotel is close to numerous area attractions, including downtown Palm Springs, shopping, golf, tennis and biking trails.
Guest rooms and suites at Viceroy Palm Springs are just as luxurious and stunningly decorated as the hotel's restaurant and pool areas. Every room features Italian linens, plush bathrobes, down comforters and pillow, mini-fridge and daily newspaper. Suites include sun patios, spacious living rooms and large bath areas.
Villas are situated in quiet areas of the hotel's garden and feature separate sitting areas, fireplaces, dining rooms, fully-equipped kitchens and French doors.
Viceroy Palm Springs is home to Citron, an elegant gourmet restaurant serving dishes fashioned from fresh, organic and local ingredients. Guests swoon over entrees like the buttermilk-marinated chicken and rainbow trout with crispy pancetta.
Viceroy Palm Springs has been a favorite of celebrities since it opened, and famous guests include Clark Gable, Joan Crawford and Bing Crosby. Even President Franklin Delano Roosevelt could not resist the resort's luxurious accommodations.
The resort's full-service Estrella Spa indulges the senses with aromatherapy treatments, massages, facials and body treatments. Signature services include a detoxification therapy that uses coffee lemon scrub, cooling clay and cardamom amber oil to exfoliate and moisturize skin.
Three refreshing outdoor pools are surrounded by citrus trees and lush landscaping. An adults-only tranquility pool allows guests to lounge on the beautiful patio space and recharge after a day of sightseeing, shopping or business meetings.

Pretty Boutique Hotel
This Viceroy is not like the Viceroy in Santa Monica or San Francisco. It's a spread-out, boutiquey, and likely renovated old 60's hotel. The vibe is friendly and mellow. There are 3 pools so it does not feel like a crowded resort. The staff was awesome and the food at Citron was delicious and surprisingly well-priced. The only drawback is the rooms. They are clean and nice, but definitely not luxurious. I have also stayed at the Colony Palms Hotel and I thought these 2 hotels were quite similar.

Adult Getaway
We were taken back to a glimpse of celebrity past as we enjoyed the complimentary bicycles with names of their own (Frank, Ava, Audrey, etc) .The Viceroy has kept an atmosphere of a time standing still yet authentically current as we are allowed to visit here and feel we are once again back in the glory days of Palm Springs. This is a beautiful property kept in vintage style with extraordinary staff.

Unique Experience
The Viceroy is a hidden gem. Located near downtown Palm Springs, the hotel is set off of the street providing a secluded escape. The decor is wonderful mid-century modern and the grounds are beautiful. My trip to the area was for business and most professionals would choose a hotel with an in room desk and amazing wifi but after spending the day working, I was grateful for the poolside fire pits, cocktails at the bar and the delicious food of the Citron restaurant. All that being said, the hotel is a little older so there are some unique characteristics that come along with it including: showers only (I was really hoping for a tub), a wait time for hot water, tile floors, thin walls, and lack of storage in the bathroom. All in the all the hotel was clean, beautiful and had a great feel.

Second Stay Better Than First
I stayed at the Palm Spring Viceroy a year ago and it was a wonderful experience. On my return visit this year, it was even better. I had a larger and better-located room looking out at the mountains. It was a beautiful, very quiet view. The staff at this hotel is the best--attentive, competent, very friendly. There are people working everywhere at all times and every one of them knows the guests and communicates in a very positive way. The grounds are kept perfectly; it is so pleasant to be outside in any area. The pools are kept at the perfect temperature. It was such a relaxing escape!

Be sure to experience the Thursday night street market around the corner. It is large, diverse and very interesting. The multi-ethnic foods are cooked on site and delicious!

Front desk a mess
Valet and Front Desk were not in great shape and we're totally overwhelmed. I spent too much time at check-in, valet, etc. My room key stopped working, the door to my room wouldn't lock. The place needs some new management stat.

Great location, friendly staff, but slightly run-down
The Viceroy is at a great location, within a short walk from lots of restaurants/shopping/options. The staff at this boutique-type hotel was friendly. Generally, good atmosphere. However, there were tons of small to medium maintenance issues (visible/obvious stains, rust, serious chipping, major wear to decor and equipment, etc.) present. Accordingly three stars. Otherwise it would be four. Rather than voting "Not recommended," the Viceroy just barely gets a "Recommended."

Such Subtle Glamour
I initially booked this stay as a quick last minute getaway, so desperately needed. I am an ardent fan of Kelly Wearstler, the interior designer with impeccable flair, so that was my initial draw to the Viceroy. And as expected, the decor of the lobby, the restaurant, the rooms, the spa and the pools definitely lived up to expectation. Staff was attentive and helpful. The grounds were beautiful and immaculate. I had a great experience at the spa and a really delicious lunch poolside. There was ice water and towels aplenty at all 3 of the pools, which is where I spent the majority of my time. In all, I cannot think of a place better to spend my birthday gift to myself.

It was a perfect one day get away! It was walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. Came on a Thursday and there was a village festival that was happening. Front desk was very informative about activities that was happening. Staff was friendly. Love to atmosphere and decoration. Definitely has an old Hollywood glam to it! I will definitely come back!
