Our Palm Springs hotel is close to golf courses and tennis courts, one block from the Botanical Garden, one mile from Downtown Palm Springs and 20 miles from the great outlet stores of Cabazon. In the morning, enjoy your complimentary continental breakfast. Relax in our heated swimming pool and spa or simply lounge on the deck under our poolside mist cooling system. Tours and groups are always welcome.

The world's most famous desert resort, Palms Springs, has something for everybody. And our Palm Springs hotel is minutes of it all. Play on one of the 90 golf courses and 300 tennis courts. Go hiking and horseback riding in the beautiful desert wilderness, or bike trough miles of beautiful trails. Ride the tram to the top of Mt. San Jacinto. Or just lie by the pool and get a tan - a very popular activity. Palm Springs and Vagabond Inn are both designed with leisure in mind.

But after a day of relaxation and sun worship, it's likely you'll want to get out and sample the nightlife. And you won't be disappointed. This sophisticated, affordable community offers a vast selection of dining, nightclubs and entertainment opportunities to suit every taste. Dining

Sherman's Deli and Bakery
Why eat bread when you can eat a latke? Sherman's Deli uses a potato pancake instead of bread in their fabulous pastrami sandwich.
The Falls Steakhouse and Martini Bar
Delicious steak, desert romance, and martinis all under one roof.
Elmer's
Once you try a bite of Elmer's Potato Pancakes, cripy on the outside and steamy in the middle, you will agree that this is one of the best family dining experiences in Palm Springs!
Palm Springs Aerial Tram
Spectacular views combined with delectable food provide the perfect dining experience. There are two dining options at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Peaks, a fine dining experience with a breathtaking view of the Coachella Valley and Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant. Both restaurants are open for lunch and dinner.
Hamburger Mary's
Hamburger Mary's is an "open-air bar and grille for open-minded people" where you can count on great food and a fun atmosphere.

Great Room, parking in front of room. Comfortable bed, nice water pressure in shower, close to shopping. Air conditioner needs to be cleaned so the room doesn't smell like mold.

getaway

i've stayed here before and I always know what I am getting. a clean, comfortable room, with plenty of towels, in room coffee, large pool, and a good free breakfast. located south of hwy 111 and not far from palm desert or rancho mirage. the hotel is quiet as well. one slight downside is the TV's are not modern but they do have a good amount of cable programming. ALSO they have microwaves and fridges too.

Best economy stay in Palm Springs so far

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with the Palm Springs Vagabond Inn, after many other economy booking at different motels in the area. The room was clean & featured free wifi, fridge, microwave, and even a window in the bathroom letting in genuine natural light. The pool area was very nice, and featured a little "coffee shop" where they offered an impressive free continental breakfast - which, on this peaceful morning, was enhanced by the droves of beautiful French tourists, relaxing with waffles at the bistro tables. The location in town is decent for accessing downtown Palm Springs or forays into Cathedral City/Rancho Mirage/Palm Desert, and the particular lot is interesting, in that it backs right up to the base of the rocky desert foothills. I do believe we will return.

Quick getaway

Great location...but do not stay in the room 341, 241 or 141. There was a tree back there that had a bunch of giant bugs that would fly into our room every time we opened the door. Plus they made so much noise right outside our window it was very annoying.

unbelievable

I have a huge complaint regarding Vagabound motel in Palm Springs. When I first arrived at 2:05pm on Friday May 30th, the woman at the desk was on the phone with someone. She was agitated and being aggressive with the Person asking her questions. She was speaking aggressively and loudly to the person about not being able to check in till 4pm, over and over. She put the phone down loudly and looked at me with disgust in her eyes, she asked me harshly did I need help. I replied I am a little afraid to ask right now. She replied, well if your sooooo afraid to ask that must mean you want to check in early and I could wait or come back later since I was so afraid. At that point, I had only said 4 words to her. She challenged me by looking at me harshly. So I just kept waiting till she was done with the woman in front me. I then walked up to be helped and she just kept looking at me. Eventually, she said harshly, what is your last name? I gave her my last name and all I received for the next 10 minutes was an attitude. She asked what floor did I want?..I replied, it did not matter, she said fine, then you can go to 102, which was obviously the loudest and most congested place to stay. It was located right in front and next to the street. I said ok. She then decided because I did not respond negatively, to place me in room 221. So if I was to totally understand her treatment of me, it was a punishment. So, this morning when I am leaving to check out, 5/31/14, I enter after a guy who is also checking out. He decides to have a few words with, Linda, who the proceeds to go off on him. I step in when you really starts to give him a hard time. Henry and I realize we have had similar experiences with Linda and make a few comments on how the service was horrid but the property was fantastic. As Linda was berating Henry, she constantly mentioned how there was video available showing how we were mean to get. At that point, I said that is fantastic and I hope there is audio available to show how she was speaking to everyone....the lady on the phone, me and then Henry. I proceed to tell Linda, just because she had had a horrible phone call with a woman before we were checking in on 5/30/14, that's does not mean she needs to take it out on us. Henry and I checked in with 45 minutes of each other. Henry and I were trying to exchange numbers and info to help each other for the complaints, as witnesses, and Linda decides to give us a piece of her mind. I tell her, Henry and I were speaking to each other and to kindly let us finish our conversation. The sad part, is I have only had pleasant experiences with your inn in the past but that this episode mashes me reconsider ever going there again or to recommend your Inn in the future. I arrived and was trying to ask about an early check in on 5/30/14 at 2:03 pm. I did not expect any special treatment and was willing to just wait the 45 min until my check in time. My receipt showed the check in as being 3 pm not 4 pm as posted within the Inn. Becky
