Palm Springs is feeling refreshed. To know Palm Springs is to love it. Whether you come for the sun, the spas or the style, there's an undeniable lure to this oasis of desert modern in the Coachella Valley. Now there's new place to lay your head while soaking it all up. The Saguaro opens in February 2012, bringing with it a new sense of design, food and comfort. If you ever needed another reason to escape here, you have one now. Guestrooms and Suites Bright. Light. Colorful. The rooms at the Saguaro immerse you in the desert resort experience that is Palm Springs. Choose your view, mountain, garden courtyard with pool, or city lights. Nearly every room has a balcony or patio and is accented inside and out by the brilliant color of a native Mojave wildflower, creating a visual spectrum of light throughout the grounds. No one perspective is the same. Services and Amenities There are certain standards by which a visit to Palm Springs is judged. Such as pool time and the scenery that goes with it, the quality of architecture and design, and perhaps most importantly, the ability to enjoy the desert landscape and air, preferably with cocktail in hand. By all accounts, the Saguaro has you more than covered.
The hotel charges an $18 per night resort fee to all guests which is collected at check-out. The resort fee includes self parking, WiFi (basic), guest transportation (within 5 miles), daily yoga, and pool access.

- Area description
- A touch of old Hollywood glamor. Perhaps the best golf and spas in the west. Groundbreaking mid-century modern architecture. A party circuit unrivaled for its inclusiveness. There is only one Palm Springs, that's for sure. The Saguaro puts you right in the middle of it, just off famed Palm Canyon Drive a mile from downtown. Yet, in true Palm Springs fashion, a stay here is also about privacy and relaxation. Palm Springs was initially popular with visitors for the health effects of its dry heat and clean air. The weather is still a huge draw, as are the hiking trails, golf courses, pool scenes that go with it. There is fantastic antique shopping, especially from the mid-century era, due to the area's desert modern architecture that sprouted in the 1940s.
Meeting facilities
- Meeting Info
- In the 1920s, Hollywood stars began decamping to Palm Springs to relax, party and rejuvenate. You can imagine more than a few screenplays were pitched around the pool. Today Palm Springs is a destination for meetings and events more than ever, seducing planners with 350 days of sunshine a year and abundant golf, shopping and desert curiosities.
Dining
- El Jefe
- At The Saguaro, El Jefe's culinary inspiration will be the wonderfully diverse street food of Mexico. Guests can enjoy an extensive list of over 100 tequilas and mescals, available by the glass and also in flights for sampling. El Jefe's design will bring the classic Western frontier bar so ubiquitous in many of our beloved vintage movies into the modern era featuring a muted color palette and reclaimed, rustic materials. A variety of motorcycle paraphernalia evocative of the Southwest's legendary roving bands of bikers, Day of the Dead artwork, a back-lit custom menu board and a tequila display will be among the focal points of the space. Elements will also feature an outdoor drink rail, accessed through saloon-style swinging doors, for all-weather cocktails and snacks.
- Chef Jose Garces
- He's one of the country's most talented young chefs, winner of the Food Network's Iron Chef America and a James Beard award. His food draws crowds in Philly, Chi-Town, Scottsdale, and now Palm Springs.
- Tinto Restaurant
- Tinto (red wine in Spanish) is a wine bar and restaurant from Iron Chef Jose Garces inspired by the culinary-renowned Basque region of Northern Spain and Southern France. At Tinto, Garces presents his modern approach to traditional pintxos (Peen-chos), or Basque tapas, and a deep selection of area's premier wines and native cocktails.

Pretty good....
I would have given 3.5 stars if i had the option. Overall, the Saguaro was nice. I enjoyed the pool the most. But I wouldn't call this place a "resort" and for what you get, it should definitely be cheaper. There are more quality places in Palm Springs around the same price. I'm glad I tried it out....It's a fun place, young crowd, fun pool atmosphere. But the rooms are sparse, cheaply re-done, no amenities to speak of really. All in all, I would come back, but only if I got a really great deal.

Great Weekend Getaway Spot
I stayed a weekend here with 3 girlfriends and we had an amazing time. We didn't get around to daily yoga or riding the rental bikes around in the heat but thought these were just a few of the awesome things this hotel has to offer. We spent most of our time at the pool for the music (super relaxing and fun pool party), sun (loved the pool-side cushions in lieu of clunky chairs) and food/drink (great selections from both of the hotel restaurants' menus). Our Saturday morning service at the pool was fine - quick delivery of our bloody mary's and guacamole - but the cocktails were basically SAUCE and were not good at all. As the day went on the and the pool got more crowded, service got extremely slow. When we asked our server to close out our tab and charge it to our room, we waited 25 minutes for her to return and ended up just leaving the pool. Our server was great though, just busy, and ended up coming to find us in our room to have us sign off on the bill. Another issue I can't help but point out was a cockroach running around in our bathroom - a huge one. Aside from that, our room and the entire hotel were clean and very comfortable. I usually would not let the appearance of a cockroach slide but really everything else about our experience here was great. Housekeeping had no problem providing us with the few extra towels we requested, which is refreshing considering I've had some annoying experiences at hotels who make it clear they don't really want to let you have more towels and/or take forever to do so. We decided to order breakfast on Sunday while we were at the pool. A simple order of 2 breakfast burritos took almost an hour, but every time we asked our server to check on this for us she was very patient and friendly. She ended up comping us our order and the burritos were great. We had a few imperfect moments but the staff were always knowledgeable, friendly and quick to remedy the situation. The front desk staff were also great - very friendly, quick and attentive. Loved the complimentary Perrier upon check-out, too.

Love this place
this place is fun, affordable, and has most of the amenities you can expect for the price. There is no minibar in the room, and the pool bar has no blender. (that part really bugged me for some reason) Otherwise, it is completely amazing. Beautiful view from the room.

Infrastructure
A new veneer of colorful hip decor doesn't address problems with bad architecture. The 2 lone elevators are located at far corners of the structure about as far away from the lobby as possible, and exit doors spill out onto random loading zones. Hallways are very long and monotonous. Not a good choice for anyone who has trouble walking or dealing with stairs. Rooms are comfortable except for drafty room A/C. Parking is excellent, which is good since you'll often need to drive from this location - like for coffee anytime before 8M, when the cafe opens. Having a great restaurant, Tinto, on the premises is the best perk, and a good reason not to get in the car and escape this place.

Clean, friendly, cute!
Well renovated and well run. Very clean, everything up to standard, with thoughtful details (towels were super soft, linens were high thread count, really good water pressure in the shower, thick walls so you don't hear your neighbor, iPhone dock/charger on the clock, etc.). Our room was a little on the small side, though.

Fun for family
Went for a three day family get-away and had a great time. Yes, it could be loud and busy but the sliding glass door on the balcony kept most late night pool noise out. Room was very clean and yes, colorful. We loved the ping pong table and poolside food and drink. Pet friendly and people friendly!

Pool area needs help
The bright colors were great, the flowers were so nice, the spa was lovely, the pool was disappointing. The chair cushions were very dingy and towels were scarce. When there were no towels at the pool, I was sent to the front desk to obtain one, unfortunately, no towels available there either. I was asked to use the towel from the room and then call housekeeping to replace it. Also, while the hours for the poolside bar were until sunset, it closed well before. The pool looked so bright and cheery in the photos and it was one of the factors that led me to choose this hotel, but it ends up to be the reason I would not come back to this hotel.
