I booked this room for a little getaway to Palm springs for my mothers day. We had a smaller budget this time around so i found the location of this hotel quite appealing. The room had a king bed, a fridge and a microwave. When we arrived we noticed the AC wasnt working, i called the front desk and they sent somebody to replace the battery immediately. In the morning the hotel has a free breakfast which consisted of waffles, coffee and bread. Its a good option if you want something to hold you over until noon but not a full on breakfast which we were fully aware of. The little breakfast room is right by the pool area which was very convenient. The pool opened at 8am-10pm, with the Palm springs heat having the pool open that early was great because we were able to catch some rays before it got too hot to stay still. The location of the Royal Sun was also ideal for us because it was only a 7min cab ride away from the main strip where all the bars, casinos and restaurants are located. The staff was really helpful in anything we needed help with and that can always make or break your stay. If you are looking for luxury you wont find it at the Royal Sun, the rooms are standard hotel rooms. However, it isn't a hole in the wall type of location either.

For this place, it is all about value. It isn't the greatest place you'll find, but for the money of Motel 6 right around the corner, it is much like the experience of the Tropics close by. Free breakfast, and very nice pool area. Nice staff members too. Annoying is the fluctuating water temperature in the shower of the room we had. Not sure if that is true for all rooms, but it was very noticeable in ours. Still, I'd definitely come back. Off Palm Canyon, and really quiet, but a great location, and value.

Staff friendly, cleaning staff do good job of cleaning room, basic cold breakfast, bed ok, since this is older motel the furnishing are a bit old, good location & good place for dollars spent but have to say I didn't like there wifi hot spot system as hard to get on & get booted out if not used for a little while.

Staying there was ok. It was just a little further away from the places I needed to go than I anticipated. I did enjoy meeting some of the other guests at breakfast and by the pool.

We stayed numerous times at the Royal Sun because of the good location. Will not return because the atmosphere of the hotel is lousy & uncomfortable due to the horrid behavior of the manager towards the guests. Some guests met & discussed that a smile is too much to ask for. The manager is positively rude & makes the guests feel that he is doing a favor for the privilege of staying at "His" hotel. He sends guests away & we witnessed many people leaving early due to his behavior. This caused bad vibes all around. Sorry about this one person ruining this hotel.

Location close to friends house and still close enough to downtown. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff especially helpful each time contacted, made visit a little nicer.

My check in was a bit of a nightmare. The clerk almost charged me again- I had to call my cc on the spot and have them remove an authorization he made for the full amount instead of $50.00. After he apologized, things got better- The jacuzzi was hot, the pool tepid. The breakfast was good, and we met some nice people there. On New years we had an impomptu party in the lobby with the same clerk and some guests. So, all in all, it was fine.

Room was clean and comfortable, the continental breakfast was fare and you could buy a more filling breakfast for a small fee. Overall experience was good,. i just needed a place to sleep since most of my scheduled activities were away from the hotel. Over all good value for my money.

Tjesus what a discusting hotel... Unfriendly staff.. The owner only wants to make money that's what he said, he was rude and unfriendly. The room was old, smelly and dirty... I was affraid for bed bugs!!! I had paid so I had to sleep here...?will never come back again! Please spend your money not on this hotel! There are much better hotels than this!
