Weekend in Paradise

Arrived late Friday afternoon to welcoming, smiling faces and cool mint iced tea in the most charming peaceful surroundings of a Morrocan hideaway nestled against the hills. Room was the Casablanca, an upstairs studio with windows opening onto the patio below, the pool area and a lovely exclusive patio with its own private curving stairway. It was absolutely peaceful, clean and nicely appointed with period furniture and a luxurious shower with an overhead rain shower head. We were in a haven of rest and relaxation. Saturday started with a hearty pancake breakfast, juice and coffee. We stayed by the pool, lounging, sleeping and reading while being pampered by the staff with popsicles and panini sandwiches at lunch time. On the first evening we strolled the three short blocks into town and ate at an incredible restaurant called the Chop House and on the second night tried Rio Azul, a local Mexican restaurant. We were impressed with the wonderful food at both places and really nice service. This is a place to relax and enjoy the surroundings, amenities and charm of staying in a historical Moroccan Villa without TV's or phones. Time unfortunately does not stand still and our stay ended much too quickly. We will return to Korakia hopefully soon and spend more time relaxing in this restful environment again. Cons: Bed was a little soft for my back, but not bad enough to complain for two nights. In fairness I didn't mention it but know they would have tried to rectify the problem as they continuously asked how they could make us more comfortable. Some of the guests started an impromtu party amongst themselves at the pool and got a little loud but we stopped hearing them when we finally closed our windows. It did detract from the quiet atmosphere around the pool but they were done by 8:30ish and things went back to normal after that.
