Bad !

Rooms were clean but smelled of insect repellent. We rented two rooms. AC units in both the units were outdated and were so loud that it was difficult to sleep - it was like sleeping in a factory ! The walls were paper thin and you can hear everything next door - you do not want to bring your children here ! Moreover people were congregating outside their rooms, loud, drinking until late hours. We got in at 11p (spontaneous planning) with plans to leaver early in the morning to go hiking. But with all the noise levels - AC, people outside, and commotion next door, we did not get a wink of sleep (we were better off sleeping in the car or pay mor $ and stay at a decent hotel). Further, on the entrance of the Inn it read Day's Inn - however, this happened to be a banner that covered the sign called 'palm court'. They put up the 'Days Inn' banner during day time and very late at night they remove it. After checking into the Inn at 11 pm, we headed out to get something to eat and when we returned we couldn't find the place because they had removed the 'Days Inn' banner and they were now called 'Palms Court' !! Not a place for family or for any decent group of people !

Frequent Traveler: Disappointed

Our stay was disappointing, to say the least, from the very beginning. Our very first impression was that the pictures weren't even close to accurate. We were under the assumption this was a 3 star hotel (for the price $85/night and the pictures). I would say this is a 1.5 star hotel. It was the type of hotel you pull back the sheets to check for bedbugs/cleanliness. We would have paid more to stay in a better hotel. Our first night in the hotel went smooth but when we went to shower, the tub almost flooded the bathroom from a 5-minute shower. We brought it to their attention; in turn they took about 45 minutes to arrive (we waited, as we do not trust many hotels- thief capabilities). They pulled out a 'hairball' and left. The next day we took another shower and the tub filled up again. They said they would be coming at 10 AM to fix. Since we were still un-trusting and wanted to enjoy our day elsewhere, we decided to move our luggage to our vehicle and let the front desk know the plumber could come in when we weren't there. When we got back, we tested the shower (we were smarter this time) and it still wasn't fixed. We also found out the maids cleared out our fridge including food and alcohol. We immediately went to the front desk and they were not very friendly with the issue, actually accusing US of lying (remember how un-trusting we are of hotels). The next morning the manager admitted the mistake, and refunded us 1 night (even though it was going on 3 days of errors), moved us to another room, apologized for the miscommunication, and refunded the estimated loss of items. We were happy they fixed the issue, but they should have taken care of the situation earlier and not offended us by implying WE were lying. I guess we have to take pictures of our hotel room and fridge every time we leave. The comforter had candy stuck to it. Another added bonus, the towels had stains (like nail polish, old make-up) on every one we used, disgusting! Terrible experience especially since it was a leisure-vacation. I wouldn't recommend to family/friends or anyone else at that.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Palm Springs is a beautiful city, lots of shopping and great food. The hotel is located close to the 'downtown' festivities. It is the one positive I made on the review (close to points of interest).

Bring Your Own Bedding (Sheets and Pillows)

Upon entering the room I instantly took the bed apart (thats what I do to look for bugs). The pillow had several strands of hair, the mattress cover was distingusting, the blanket had 2 dead flies (on top of the blanket, below the comforter) and the comforter had white crusty stains on it (hmmmm?). I called the office to ask for a clean set of sheets and was instantly upgraded to a recently renovated room. Much happier but the pillow still had hair. I bring my own sheets so it was ok. The up side of this hotel is that the pools are awesome. A great big pool for adults, a great big jacuzzi and a kiddie pool that my kids enjoyed more then anything in the world. I would recommend this place only for people on a budget with kids. Bring your own sheets.

Palm Springs is a great place to go if you want to spend the day in Oak Glen picking apples with your family. We will probably do it again next year.

A Spontaneous Getaway

On 6/15 midnight, my daughter and I decided to take a spontaneous overnight trip to Palm Springs and I found Palm Court Inn's price and reviews favorable and booked a one night reservation immediately. When we arrived at the motel, it reminded us both of having the 70's feel to it. A little on the nostalgic side, I would say. We walked over to the pool area and like it immediately with the wide open spaced with green manicured lawn. Relaxing... Oh yes! Bring your laptop, wireless WIFI is free. You just go to the front desk to receive the login code and password (they'll print it out for you) The restaurant next door, Ricks, is just as nostalgic as the hotel. If you like the simple pleasures of life, this accommodations is worth the try.
