Polynesian-themed hotel with mountain views in Palm Springs
Caliente Tropics Resort is all about fun, relaxation and comfort. Pulled, couldn't find anyone to check us in for 5 min. The restaurant in the front of hotel is closed down and they check you in from there?? Slightly confusing at first. The guy working there was nice and did ok with what he had to work with which wasnt much. Door on our room was hard to lock, air conditioning was loud and scared my kid everytme it went on. Pool was disgusting!

Basic motel
Swimming pool was a pleasant amaneity given the location (no beach) and climate (almost always sunny). Stayed three nights. Room make-up service did mot materialise on one day. This motel has seen better days. Lobby area and facilities are run down. It certainly is not an unpleasant place to stay.

Pleasantly surprised.
We got a great rate online to stay at this hotel- right in the middle of Spring Break so of course I was a little nervous... but it turned out great! The room was pretty standard... but nice, and comfortable, the pool was wonderful, the staff were very accommodating, location was perfect... close to downtown and various hiking spots. The major drawback for me was that they had a beautiful lobby area that could have served as a nice cafe and a perfect bar area in the back overlooking the pool- but both areas were closed down... you could walk through- but there was nothing in there but dust, an empty bar and booths... what a bummer. Will it ever re-open?

As good as the Marriot
We stayed here for just 1 night after staying 2 at the Marriot in Palm dessert. Both hotels were really nice but Caliente was much better value if you are just looking for somewhere to stay and not for a golf course and kids clubs etc. I would definately recommend this hotel to friends.

Quick getaway
Room were very clean and beds comfy. Got upgraded to a suite without asking. Front desk was very nice and efficient. Was only minutes away from main strip and convention center. The only negative was pool was not heated and Hot tub could of been hotter.

QUICK STAY!
HAD A QUICK OVERNIGHT STAY HERE, BUT THIS IS MY IMPRESSION. THE HOTEL IS OLDER BUT UPDATED SOME. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN, LIKED THE SINK OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM AND SHOWER AREA. LOVED THE TISSUE BOX (YOU WOULD JUST HAVE TO SEE IT!) EVENING AND MORNING STAFF VERY PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH AND THE HOTEL IS CONVENIENT TO EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN PALM SPRINGS. AT THE RIGHT PRICE, ITS JUST GREAT!

Fine hotel - close to airport
Gentlemen that greeted us was very pleasant, the room was clean and bed was comfortable. No restaurant or bar available - ice machine didn't work on our floor. I would stay there again.

Fits the bill...
Everything was good. The pool and hot tub were great to come home to. The patio around the pool is large and roomy. It was a good place to call home for a week. Front office staff and grounds keeper were very helpful. Items for improvement: maid service didn't come to rooms until 5pm (seems a bit late). The in-room coffee was terrible.

Very accommodating staff
Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel. For a sight unseen booking, it was nice to have clean rooms and friendly staff. Overall, would return again. We actually had a horrible problem with our room (family of 4, 1 king sized bed) and the problem was with modifying the booking, and the issue was really with this travel site's modify routine, it made 2 simultaneous bookings. The front desk gave us extra beds for the one night and upgraded us to a suite with 2 doubles the next 2 nights for no extra charge. I was very pleased! WiFi wasn't working so that was just a bummer. The rooms were definitely clean, but only giving it a 3 because room service seemed to take all day long to get to the rooms and sometimes wouldn't leave enough towels. Hot tub was always hot so we spent most of our time there. Pool was nice, weather was too cold to enjoy. No restaurants or breakfast buffet.

The mother ship
What a surprise for the. Money!!
We had a big party at the. Hotel and it was great. The pool is Hugh and the rooms are very clean and comfortable for an older hotel. It's a real bargain. Close to all the great restaurants and shopping Palm Springs has to offer. I will begging back.

The Matchbox is excellent ....
