Caliente Tropics Resort

I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay for the week while I was in Palm Springs at a business convention. I needed a place close to downtown, that when I came back I could comfortably rest and and do my follow up work at. The Caliente Tropics was better than I expected. Great room, quiet, nice bed, an AC that worked well, good pool, and nice staff. My only complaint is that the water pressure in the shower was weak and could be better, but other than that, the place is great.

I've enjoyed my stays here except that I haven't got to use the pool or the jaccuzi outside because I'm not actually on vacation whenever I stayed here. From my hotel room, it looked like lots of fun by the poolside just wishng I have the time to use them. They've recently added the gym inside the hotel as well. I can't wait to use that next time I'm back.

Caliente Tropics was highly recommended by several locals. Staff was very friendly and we were upgraded upon arrival. Great location and value for the money, we were quite impressed.

Needed a place to stay for one night. Room amenities were old. Refrigerator was making weird noise all night. Walls were so thin that I could clearly hear my neighbors' conversation in the room next to mine. Beds were comfortable but with so much noise couldn't get any sleep anyway.

I arrived fully expecting a typical budget hotel experience, but found much better. Don't get me wrong, this hotel dates to the early 60's heyday of rat pack-era Palm Springs and the outside Polynesian kitch factor is high(think Bali Hai/South Pacific meets motel), but the room was clean and quite nice, and even featured full granite shower and bathroom counters. I only saw the pool area from a distance but it looked similarly Polynesian in theme and pleasant. In many ways this hotel provides what many might seek in a Palm Springs area boutique hotel; retro-chic hotel with a more modern room treatment. I would happily come again.

Very clean and quiet not much more I could ask for on a working weekend........

It was a last minute booking for myself and a business client as our travel plans changed. It was a very happy surprise. Greeted by a very friendly and engaging Gentleman who helped us check in. We had newly remodeled rooms which were very nice and quaint. It was dead quiet all night. My client was equally happy with it. We are both regular travelers and have stayed at many 5 stars and we both left this hotel with a smile and happy we chose them. Nice people also which always makes the stay nice.

I was there for a week of conference in February. It's not the peak of the season. However, there are lots of people around. Hotels are getting pretty expensive around there. Caliente offered me a good price with an outdoor pool and outdoor hot tub, which is an absolute plus for a guy coming from the winter in the East coast. The location is pretty off the main shopping area a bit. However, you will need a car in California anyway. 7-10 minutes drive should not deter you from staying here at all.

Didn't spend much time there but the rooms were clean and it was quite enough to sleep. It was a little too far out to walk to the convention center which was my destination. Overall, clean rooms and courteous staff. No close restaurants to walk to. The on-sight restaurant was under construction.
