Caliente Tropics Resort

The room itself was okay, we stayed two nights and no one cleaned the room. There were no towels at the pool and there is a card in the room saying that if you take the room towels to the pool then there is a $250 charge! They claim to have shuffleboard on campus but both sticks were broken and there were only three pucks, we asked for others but the did not have any. Also the hotel was undergoing major construction. Not a family oriented place, there was nothing resortish about it, someone should turn them into the DCA and BBB for scams...!!!!!

We took one look at the place and said we CANNOT stay here. It looked like drug deals or gun fights would start in the parking lot at any moment. I was so embarassed that I had choosen this rundown dump for our annivesary weekend. Don't believe the pictures of this place. It was a dump.

We checked in late 1 am after a long drive in from Los Angeles. We were looking forward to our stay and was greeted by a helpful but drunk night manager who was unable after 4 tries to swipe and make an electronic key that worked. After making multiple trips to the office one after another explaining the key did not work and we could not get into the room. The next morning upon going to the front desk to explain how I needed a new key I was talked to by the day manager as if I was 5 years old on how to use the key. Madam I am 35 and have traveled this whole world over I am aware how a electronic key works. Fridge had leaked water all over are carpet and the Steak House and Tiki Bar they advertise on there website is no longer open and has not been for a very long time. Never Again.

Don't stay here. I don't know what these people that gave good reviews were smoking but this place sucks. What a mistake. Stains on the blankets and I mean big ones. Paint peeling off the walls in the bathroom. Really funny smell in the room. extremely outdated. Overall just a dirty looking place inside and out. Go to motel 6 at least it's cleaner. The try to make the place look good by adding tiki stuff here and there but that didnt fool me. It's an old dump. Please don't stay here. But while your there in PS drive by and see what I'm talking about.

This establishment was way overpriced. There is no restaurant on sight and the description said it was. They charged a resort fee, and this is not a resort. I would compare to motel 6 at best. If you are looking for a resort, pay the price and avoid this place.

I was charged 100 dollars extra on top of what I already paid from orbitz for a deposit. I used a debit card so I still havent seen the money returned to my account the place was pertty rundown the pool lights where out so you could only swim till 7:30 and no towels at the pool. Carpets need a real deep clean very dirty and stained.

Spend just a little bit extra to book the Tiki room but couldn't tell any difference from a regular motel or it's deluxe king room. Maybe it is slightly bigger than the deluxe king but not the TIKI style I'm looking for. The room had weird smells when we first entered, not smoking, something else, so have to open the window to let it out first. Room service staff forgot (or didn't even provide?) the shampoo and conditioner, and there's nobody at front disk answering the phone at about 10 p.m., when they said they will be there till about 1-2 a.m. Towels are NOT clean, it has dry blood (not just stain) and some yellow-ish human waste stain on it. A/C has a power switch like the entrance light but you have no control of the temperature what-so-ever, had to turn it off to reduce the noise and keep my-self warm in January. Oh and the internet, yes it does provide complimentary WIFI, and yes the signal strength will tell you it is at its strongest full bar, but no... you will not be able to connect to the internet. The friendly staff at the front desk will let you know about their internet issue when you ask them about the internet but they are not and will not do anything about it. They highly recommend and welcomes the internet user to stay in the lobby for internet usage. oh but although internet are bad, I think I still got a legit connection for about 30 seconds early in the morning. Last thing, did not provide a pen nor notepad to write, but I have one my own so not an issue for me. what else... ppl who lived here before did not took away the magazines this hotel provided but they decided to tear off couple pages inside. If you do a parallel compare w/ a 1 star motel, this resort is probably at par. But if you want to do something above 2.5, then this is not the place you will want to have in your mind.

The hotel booked 14 rooms to 50+ Fraternity bros & their dates, and spread them all over the facility. My husband and I anticipated a nice & relaxing weekend vacation & it turned out to be anything but. Not only did the obnoxious group stay up partying until 3:30am, but they monopolized the pool & jacuzzi area the entire weekend, constantly yelling "shots, shots, shots," and shouting beyond offensive slurs and obscenities. The first morning they woke us up banging on our door at 7:45am (thinking our room was one of theirs). They blasted country music out of all of their rooms, binged drank, screamed, smoked pot, fought, stripped, screamed, sang, chanted fraternity cheers, on and on and on the entire day. We had to leave the hotel to find a quieter place to spend the day & could still hear them a block away. After complaining to the hotel staff, we moved to another part of the hotel - which even then didn't improve the situation as another group of them were again right next door. Just to give you another visual, there were so many of these college animals, they had to charter a bus to take themselves DT for dinner. Thinking we finally had peace for the evening, I was beyond disappointed to see them return only 2 hours later. The staff was very apologetic, having heard complaints all day from many other guests. However, the manager told me and a group of other upset guests that he was going to call the police and kick them all out, temporarily easing our minds of the situation, but he never followed through with this promise. He didn’t offer us a discount or a future stay (not that I want to ever return again). To top it off, the hotel charged my bank account a miscellaneous fee of $200. When I called them this morning to see why they had done this, staff told me their records didn’t indicate any charges being made. I’m waiting to hear back from the manager. Overall, it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had in all of my travels.

I would absoutly stay at this hotel again! The pool was very clean and the second biggest in Palm Springs! Tacarra at the frount desk was very friendly and patient (i could be a very challenging) My room was soooo nice and very reasonable priced!!!! next november when i come back with my whole family we are sure to stay here because its the perfect place for a big family gathering!!!! and its pet friendly!! I would come back just to visit TACARRA!!! Hopping to see a shark tank in the lobby!!!!
