Polynesian-themed hotel with mountain views in Palm Springs
Caliente Tropics Resort is all about fun, relaxation and comfort. The hotel is one of the finest remaining examples of the Tiki and Polynesian-themed Palm Springs hotels built in the 1960s, and has hosted celebrities such as Elvis and Frank Sinatra. Updated for the 21st century with modern amenities like free Wi-Fi, Caliente Tropics Resort retains the zesty feel of a Tiki lounge, while extending luxury and convenience to guests. The hotel features one of the largest pools in the area, surrounded by cabanas and pool deck.

Clean, Comfortable, Very Inexpensive
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Caliente Tropics Resort. It is walking distance from a very good Mexican Restaurant (glad to walk after the giant margherita) and it has a diner attached to it which is not part of the resort. I didn't try the diner. The room was very cute, the parking was plentiful, the room was clean, the pool was clean. I would definitely go again. I thought the value was excellent.

Even if you don't want to take the tram ride, drive up to the Palm Springs Aerial tramway. You can have a picnic lunch there.

great little bar next to the pool area
there is this great little bar next to the pool area so not only can you swim and relax but you can jump right over to the bar and get a drink. what more can you ask for?

Very friendly
The room was clean and it had a small kitchen. Very nice decoration of the room. Very lovely hotel. Very unitque. The hotel is very close to downtown Palm Springs.

What a delight

family friendly
We celebrated our anniversary at this place. The South Pacific decor, Palm trees and lots of colorful flowers around the pool, made it so special. The rooms are extra large and the place is kids and pets friendly. I`m looking forward to our next visit. We had a massage and the staff is very nice and experienced. A great place only about a mile from down town.

The Reef is a nice place to sit and have a cool tropical drink, while watching the kids in the pool. The mexican restaurant has very good food.

Great Beds
The best things about the Caliente Tropics Resort are the beds. They were wonderful. The rooms were nice but a little on the small side. The pool was big and warm. There were restaurants nearby. The staff was nice and helpful. I was in town for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament so the location wasn't the best for that, but it was close to downtown Palm Springs.

So much fun
I loved it. The staff was all very friendly from the front desk, to the attached restaurant BBQ BILLS. Nice and quiet. I went to get away from the hustle and bustle of my job and was looking for a nice quiet place to relax, sit by the pool to sun bathe, read a book and enjoy some ice tea. Check, check, check and CHECK! It was exactly what I was looking for. I had an amazing nights sleep in the very comfortable king size bed in my peaceful room! Plus I loved the kitshy decor. Felt like I was transported to an exotic polynesian vacation circa 1960! I loved being close enough to walk to downtown, with restaurants and shopping but far enough away to escape. I will definitely be back!!!

Great Place
The rooms are big, with huge beds. The beds are very comfortable and you will NEVER want to leave the room. Very spacious. Long counter, and enough place to hang clothes.

This was a fun place. The pool was very large and the staff at the Tiki bar was great. Mai Tais at happy hour were the best.
