Caliente Tropics Resort

The lobby was very nice, but the room needed a little TLC - it was clean though. We had room#117 - the phone and tvs are old, so are the tv stands and bedside tables - they need to be upgrade to match the rest of the decor. Our nice couch had a big cigarette burn on it. Our door handle did fall off and the sink got clogged. It was too cold to check out the pool, so no comment, but did look nice from afar. Overall, it was better than your typical chain hotel. I would stay here again.

Spend just a little bit extra to book the Tiki room but couldn't tell any difference from a regular motel or it's deluxe king room. Maybe it is slightly bigger than the deluxe king but not the TIKI style I'm looking for. The room had weird smells when we first entered, not smoking, something else, so have to open the window to let it out first. Room service staff forgot (or didn't even provide?) the shampoo and conditioner, and there's nobody at front disk answering the phone at about 10 p.m., when they said they will be there till about 1-2 a.m. Towels are NOT clean, it has dry blood (not just stain) and some yellow-ish human waste stain on it. A/C has a power switch like the entrance light but you have no control of the temperature what-so-ever, had to turn it off to reduce the noise and keep my-self warm in January. Oh and the internet, yes it does provide complimentary WIFI, and yes the signal strength will tell you it is at its strongest full bar, but no... you will not be able to connect to the internet. The friendly staff at the front desk will let you know about their internet issue when you ask them about the internet but they are not and will not do anything about it. They highly recommend and welcomes the internet user to stay in the lobby for internet usage. oh but although internet are bad, I think I still got a legit connection for about 30 seconds early in the morning. Last thing, did not provide a pen nor notepad to write, but I have one my own so not an issue for me. what else... ppl who lived here before did not took away the magazines this hotel provided but they decided to tear off couple pages inside. If you do a parallel compare w/ a 1 star motel, this resort is probably at par. But if you want to do something above 2.5, then this is not the place you will want to have in your mind.

We had a bad feeling about booking an off-brand hotel with such varied reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. Everything was clean and in good order. It wasn't an exceptional hotel, but was a good value and had no obvious shortcomings.

The place was fine, service acceptable and value was also OK, but the little things were not up to par--really bad coffee for the coffee maker--the water tasted salty and of minerals--sound proofing between walls wasn't all that great. Although it was OK, I'm not sure I'd go there again.

Nice place,great price I would highly recommend staying here. I will definitely stay here again.

This motel was amazing. It is by far the best choice in the neighborhood. I don't understand why people are complaining about the motel 6 next door because that has nothing to do with the cleaniness, service provided by Brian and his staff, and the late check out Caliente offers. Defintely will be coming back. P.S I forgot to blab about the nice big hot jacuzzi they have!

it was fine except there was no restaurant to take any breakfast, aqlso the swimming pool was very cold we couldn't use it.

Booked very last minute and was impressed with the great rate! Great value for the money. Hotel is in a very convenient area, and the room was clean. The hotel was recently rennovated, so it is is clean/fresh!

At $45.00 per night, this was a great deal. We only stayed one night so we did not use the pool or other public areas. The room was clean and comfortable for a motel. I sort of liked the sixties Sputnik converted to eighties Tiki/Hawaii motif. Location was great, near to downtown and all the golf courses.
