Polynesian-themed hotel with mountain views in Palm Springs
Caliente Tropics Resort is all about fun, relaxation and comfort. The hotel is one of the finest remaining examples of the Tiki and Polynesian-themed Palm Springs hotels built in the 1960s, and has hosted celebrities such as Elvis and Frank Sinatra. Fair Deal
The door was a pain to open... and I wasn't the only one. I could hear other people struggling with it too. The phone was horrible... the 1-push button to the main office didn't work so I always had to call from my cell. The bathroom was nicely updated and everything else was great. Nice area for your dog and the pool scene was pretty cool. Get that restaurant open!

stuck in the dessart!!!!
I would absoutly stay at this hotel again! The pool was very clean and the second biggest in Palm Springs! Tacarra at the frount desk was very friendly and patient (i could be a very challenging) My room was soooo nice and very reasonable priced!!!! next november when i come back with my whole family we are sure to stay here because its the perfect place for a big family gathering!!!! and its pet friendly!! I would come back just to visit TACARRA!!! Hopping to see a shark tank in the lobby!!!!

Good experience with a couple quirks
Stayed here for a long weekend. Late arrival about 1am was no problem reception was friendly and efficient. The feeling of the place was of a fairly basic motel - with a few Tiki totems in places reflecting its Polynesian theme. If you were expecting a sumptious resort this is not it - just good basic accommodation. Our room was very clean and tidied every day. The pillows were awesomely soft and could be fluffed or shaped into bolsters just right (where can I get some of these?). My only minor nits were were that the toilet ran at odd times (sometimes squeaking) and the toilet paper kept jumping out of the holder. Despite being almost on the busy road, noise from autos were quiet. Overall it was an excellent value and we were quite comfortable.

The mother ship
What a surprise for the. Money!!
We had a big party at the. Hotel and it was great. The pool is Hugh and the rooms are very clean and comfortable for an older hotel. It's a real bargain. Close to all the great restaurants and shopping Palm Springs has to offer. I will begging back.

The resort was nice and was right after coming in to Palm Springs from Highway 111, the West exit on I-10 I-10. We utilized to pool quite a bit because it was hot out. Down Town was just about a mile away so we went there for dinner where there were a lot of choices.

OK for the money
Its not expensive but the airconditioner is loud. Staff was oblivious at best and there was major construction with hammering concrete at 7:30 AM. Not much of a vacation

A great place
I always like coming here, there is a big pool which we all love to get in. Only that this time it was really dirty, but everything else like check in and the room were excellent.

Convenient Paradise
I travelled to Palm Springs to do some hiking in the desert. I didn't have a car and had to reply on public transportation. One of the hotel's staff, Stephan, really helped me out, letting me store my bicycle and bag at the hotel while I was out and about exploring. One of the days I was in the city Caliente was fully booked and Maritza helped me find an alternative for very cheap. Really excellent staff. Very friendly and welcoming, to the point where I felt I had known them for years. As for the room and pool: WOW. I looked around the city quite a fair bit on my bike and I can honestly say there is no other hotel that is this clean, stylish, and just downright comfortable. The rooms have recently been redone, the pool has plenty of palm trees so you can find shade from the hot sun and they have this really great grass covered barbeque area with a Polynesian feel. I came alone but I will come back with friends just to use that space for a nice little party. It's really a secret oasis in the middle of Palm Springs, and the price: you can't beat it anywhere in the city. Hands down. I am really grateful to the friendly staff at Caliente for making me feel so at home on my little solo adventure. Will never forget their kindness. Thanks so much.
