Polynesian-themed hotel with mountain views in Palm Springs
Caliente Tropics Resort is all about fun, relaxation and comfort. The hotel is one of the finest remaining examples of the Tiki and Polynesian-themed Palm Springs hotels built in the 1960s, and has hosted celebrities such as Elvis and Frank Sinatra. Updated for the 21st century with modern amenities like free Wi-Fi, Caliente Tropics Resort retains the zesty feel of a Tiki lounge, while extending luxury and convenience to guests. Extremely Affordable, Convenient...etc.
I've enjoyed my stays here except that I haven't got to use the pool or the jaccuzi outside because I'm not actually on vacation whenever I stayed here. From my hotel room, it looked like lots of fun by the poolside just wishng I have the time to use them. They've recently added the gym inside the hotel as well. I can't wait to use that next time I'm back.

Great Spot for a Quick Trip
Caliente Tropics was highly recommended by several locals. Staff was very friendly and we were upgraded upon arrival. Great location and value for the money, we were quite impressed.

Fits the bill...
Everything was good. The pool and hot tub were great to come home to. The patio around the pool is large and roomy. It was a good place to call home for a week. Front office staff and grounds keeper were very helpful. Items for improvement: maid service didn't come to rooms until 5pm (seems a bit late). The in-room coffee was terrible.

Very accommodating staff
Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel. For a sight unseen booking, it was nice to have clean rooms and friendly staff. Overall, would return again. We actually had a horrible problem with our room (family of 4, 1 king sized bed) and the problem was with modifying the booking, and the issue was really with this travel site's modify routine, it made 2 simultaneous bookings. The front desk gave us extra beds for the one night and upgraded us to a suite with 2 doubles the next 2 nights for no extra charge. I was very pleased! WiFi wasn't working so that was just a bummer. The rooms were definitely clean, but only giving it a 3 because room service seemed to take all day long to get to the rooms and sometimes wouldn't leave enough towels. Hot tub was always hot so we spent most of our time there. Pool was nice, weather was too cold to enjoy. No restaurants or breakfast buffet.

New Years weekend getaway
It was a clean room, but the fixtures were falling apart, and there was never hot water in the morning. The location was close enough to points of interest, but not having hot water is unacceptable.

El Mirasol restaurant is within a block and has the best Mexican cuisine in Palm Springs. It was packed and worth the 10 minute wait.

despite its name, it was not a resort hotel but just a motel with a pool, with over 100 bucks! too bad.

Cute Place!
My first stay here was very pleasant. Rooms where nice and clean. The Hotel has kept its 60's theme with cute Tiki's all over the Hotel. Very nice pool and Jacuzzi, loved how it was lit up at night with torches and their Tiki Decor reminded me of Hawaii. Walking distance to Bars and Restaurants. Can't wait to stay here again.

A/C was non-functional, no heat. Bed was horrible, No cold water in bathroom sink. Closet doors wouldn't close, they were hung up on the carpet. No soap in the shower. Pillows were bad. overall.....bad experience
