Caliente Tropics Resort

Pulled, couldn't find anyone to check us in for 5 min. The restaurant in the front of hotel is closed down and they check you in from there?? Slightly confusing at first. The guy working there was nice and did ok with what he had to work with which wasnt much. Door on our room was hard to lock, air conditioning was loud and scared my kid everytme it went on. Pool was disgusting!

though we only stayed for one night we are already booking several days later this summer. very friendly and accommodating staff, room was very well kept and clean add to that the bed was terrific.

I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay for the week while I was in Palm Springs at a business convention. I needed a place close to downtown, that when I came back I could comfortably rest and and do my follow up work at. The Caliente Tropics was better than I expected. Great room, quiet, nice bed, an AC that worked well, good pool, and nice staff. My only complaint is that the water pressure in the shower was weak and could be better, but other than that, the place is great.

Swimming pool was a pleasant amaneity given the location (no beach) and climate (almost always sunny). Stayed three nights. Room make-up service did mot materialise on one day. This motel has seen better days. Lobby area and facilities are run down. It certainly is not an unpleasant place to stay.

Had not heard about Caliente from anyone, but took a chance. We were pleasantly surprised...very friendly staff, great location near downtown Palm Springs.

Our stay in Palm Springs was great. We visited the Joshua Tree National Park which is amazing. We saw the sunset and did a great trail on the next day. The pool and Jacuzzi in the Caliente Tropics Resort were just perfect for our sore feet and we had a great time there. Its a great hotel for that price. Its a little bit off restaurants etc. but if you have a car its a great place to stay!

We got a great rate online to stay at this hotel- right in the middle of Spring Break so of course I was a little nervous... but it turned out great! The room was pretty standard... but nice, and comfortable, the pool was wonderful, the staff were very accommodating, location was perfect... close to downtown and various hiking spots. The major drawback for me was that they had a beautiful lobby area that could have served as a nice cafe and a perfect bar area in the back overlooking the pool- but both areas were closed down... you could walk through- but there was nothing in there but dust, an empty bar and booths... what a bummer. Will it ever re-open?

It was very pleasant. Our first time traveling with our puppy and he loved it! The rooms were nice and big. The pool area and dog park were very well kept. We will be coming back!

If you need to be close to town and don't golf this works. Staff was great. Pool area is very nice. Resort...sort of implies you don't need to leave for anything. There is no bar, there appears to have been one complete with a place for a band. No food, but you have a fridge and places to eat are close. They look like they are starting some upgrades. Decent place for the price. Would stay there again.

Cons: No internet and no hot water in the room (just barely warm), stained carpet, no restaurant or bar open. Pros: comfy bed, friendly helpful staff and lovely pool. There are so many choices in Palm Springs, so there is no need to settle for less that fabulous.
