Clarion Collection Pacific Grove

Very pleasant and affordable stay in Pacific Grove. Just a few blocks from a gorgeous beach. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again!!

Stayed one night on a road trip down the coast. Seaway inn was a convenient stopping point. It's too far to walk to the aquarium or cannery row but the price was only $79 and we had a car for travelling around. The room was a little overcrowded with furniture, but it had a comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, tv. Parking was right at the door. The room was clean and had nice toiletries. Breakfast was basic hotel fare. Juice, bagels, waffles, cereal. Staff were friendly. I would stay here again. If you can get a god rate, it's excellent value for the area.

I was disappointed with our stay. I've stayed there many times. But, this time the room did not feel as clean as before. The bedspread did not look laundered. My clean white slippers were dirty when I packed them to leave. The coffee pot in the breakfast/lobby was not clean either. I think I will try another place next time.

I have gone to the Pacific Grove area for a number of years and stayed at this property a long time ago. I remembered it as better than a number of the aging motels in the area. HOWEVER, since the affiliation with the Clarion group and perhaps the added years, it seems to have gone down hill a bit. Sure, the bath had been redone, but the draperies in the main room were hanging and didn't close properly even after we re-hooked them and the carpet seemed dirty. The continental breakfast was only a step up from the muffin/cupcake, packaged sweet roll, juice, and coffee you get so many places who offer "breakfast". Also, the only place to sit was outside or back in your room on the bed. The room seemed small and crowded with a chair and ottoman in it besides the queen bed, nightstands and armour with TV. While we weren't in the market for a 5-Star property being on a budget trip, I was surprised at the ordinary-ness of this motel given its affiliation with Clarion. Guess I was expecting too much. Thr rate was good and the location couldn't be beat, walking distance to downtown Pacific Grove, the beach, and almost across the street from the butterfly sanctuary.

Overall i do not regret my stay here merely because of cost. But, the beds were hard and i think the owners are family who live on site. They were outside talking loudly until 11pm. However, i would recommend this site for a one night stay.

This is a typical 1960's motel that has been relatively-well maintained throughout. Good location in Pacific Grove. Located in the western part of Pacific Grove ; very close to the Pacific Grove public golf course; and within a walkable distance to Monterey Bay, in a quiet neighborhood.

even tho the property is a bit dated, it is situated just where i wanted to be.... right in the middle of everything good! never having been to california before, i wasnt quite sure what to expect. 1 blk away from the monarch butterfly sanctuary, a mile to asilomar state park, a nice walk to town and restaurants. folks at the desk couldnt have been nicer!

Hotel location is good; close to Ocean;a great place to stay for the money we spent. clean rooms and great shower. Breakfast was good. only issue we found was breakfast was served in the Hotel office and there was not enough room.

Attended my Granddaughter's wedding

The area where this hotel is located is beautiful and very close to the beach as well as Cannery Row. We have been to Monterey before but this time was very enjoyable because we got to see more of the area because of where our hotel was. Staff was friendly and the bathroom had a window with a nice shower. We plan to stay here in the future.
