near shopping center, great price. Only one problem is that I don't feel comfortable with the water which is slippery.

Great value, clean room
This hotel is in a good location and a good value. It's a very short drive to all the places we visited - Cannery Row, Old Town Monterey, and Carmel. It's very close highway 1. There's also a mall right across the street that had a movie theater. The room was clean, though one night the bedsheets had a small permanent stain that bothered my wife so we switched sides of the bed. We took advantage of the breakfast, it's basically a continental breakfast though you can heat up some waffles as well. We chose the hotel because it was the least expensive hotel that had a 3.8 rating or better. The reviews were accurate and I felt we got what we expected - a basic hotel that was clean and priced reasonably. I would stay here again.

Carmel has a ton of great restaurants that are a short drive away. If you like eating, I recommend eating there.

Birthday getaway
Location and everything was perfect. We weren't looking for a 5 star resort, just a place that was comfortable and in a good location. After reading tons of previously submitted reviews, we decided to stay here. Will definitely stay again next time we come.

OK Value for Overpriced Area
Chose this motel after reading other reviews. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either. It is a typical, older motel. The room was updated, but still a bit shabby with age. The property was well kept, but again, nothing special. In another area this would be a $45 room. While not totally objectionable, we will stay somewhere else on our next visits to see our daughter who is in the Air Force there.

Great base for exploring

Excellent location for a short break.
Efficient quick check in. Better than any other hotel on our trip so far. No fuss,mere expecting us and had rooms ready and produced key cards in about two minutes..... Impressive. Limited space for breakfast but good enough choice. Comfortable accommodation would definitely not hesitate in using this motel again. Handy to large shopping centre and to main attractions. Close to start of 17 mile drive and easy to find coming south on the 101.
