very friendly and helpful staffs at the hotel. room is very clearn.

I didn't expect much given the price of our room. I was disappointed however, at the very strong chemical/cleaning solution smell in our room. We opened the window and door and let the place air out for several hours before actually being comfortable in the room. There was a similar smell, that may have been even stronger, in the lobby when we checked in. It was so strong that I opted out of the free continental breakfast the next morning, it was very unpleasant. Other than that the room was ok given the price we paid.

The room was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect for any sight seeing in the area.

We have stayed before and really like the location. We can walk everywhere, especially out to dinner without moving the car. Breakfast is good. Because we liked our stay 2 years ago came back.

I was staying in town for business with one day for site seeing. Wanted a place that was close to town, clean, friendly staff and convenient. TravelLodge was all of those. Had a great stay.

This was the perfect location.....we were able to walk everywhere to the wharf, Cannery row, very good restaurants. We will go back for sure. The front desk person, Carol, was so nice and helpful with directions and recommendations. the room was nice and no bad smells. Good choice. It would have been good if there had been a small table in the room.

My husband and I liked the convenience of this location in downtown Monterey. The staff were nice and helpful in providing information as needed. The bed was high quality with a Simmons mattress and pillow topping. Excellent sleeping! I liked the green energy incorporated in the hotel. My dismay was that the water is hard. It is in a traffic area so it can be a little noisy at night but it is not for an extended period of time Very nice continental breakfast with a variety of items and beverages to choose. A good choice and a fair price for the hotel. We would recommend it to travelers. Pat & Jim Connecticut

Transit Plaza close by. Great for traveling by bus to nearby locations like Carmel, Big Sur and Pacific Grove. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants on Alvarado Street and Fisherman's Wharf. A 30-minute walk to Cannery Row.

was close to most things we like to see in Montery. Short drive to most other places.

This place was okay, clean, very convenient walking distance to everything downtown. The walls were paper-thin and a lot of road noise. But it's a motel, not the Ritz. So that's the expectation. But I have to give the staff one star: The motel staff hastily presumed on their own that my room had been checked out when in fact I had returned to my room an hour before checkout. The desk clerk, rudely and with a inappropriately accusing tone, rapped on my door at 11:30AM, apparently assuming I was "squatting" in my own room. He was not friendly and he was quaking with aggressive fear. The whole experience was bizarre. The staff was very friendly on checkout, but this unfortunate incident showed them to be unprofessional and rude and more than a little paranoid, which would indicate a high level of criminal activity going on at the Travelodge.
