Very Ordinary

The only thing I was looking for was a heated pool. I booked this hotel because of that... but when we arrived, surprise! The pool was closed. Very disappointed especially when you're traveling with four children. The rest of the hotel, very ordinary... of course, I was not expecting nothing much.

Get What You Pay For

We stayed overnight at this hotel while visiting the Aquarium. It's right off the freeway, really easy to access, room was clean, staff was polite, and it was overall, a comfortable experience. Would book here again. It's definitely not a luxurious place, but if you're just looking for a comfortable place to spend a night in, this place does it.

Nice Hotel

Perfect site for a family trip to Monterey. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice, and quick to meet our needs. Continental breakfast was outstanding. Beautiful clean pool, exercise room. Close enough to the attractions, but far away enough to avoid tourist congestion. Highly recommend, it is a great value.

Last Minute Hotel Change

As the title implies, booking at the Monterey Travellodge was a last minute event. Due to a family emergency, we ended up having to travel with two small dogs. We had to switch hotels and picked Travellodge because of their pet policy. We had a very late check-in at 10:30 PM due travel issues. The staff was great. They were very friendly and attentive. The facility is older and looks a little worn but rooms were comfortable. The price was great that included a continental breakfast. My two issues are: no pet area (not everyone picked up after their dog) and the room still had floor deodizer on the carpet when we checked in.

Weekend with away college student

Rooms are very old. Poor lighting. Located close to airport so lots of planes during the night overhead. One night a band played nearby. Sliding door was broke.

Bad, really really bad.

I give this one star only because I can not give negative stars. I booked this motel only because it was the "best" place left the night we were going to be in Monterey. The reveiws said clean, new carpet etc. The photo shows a place with one building and no outside doors. When I travel with my daughters we avoid outside doors for safety reasons. The place actually has several buildings all with outside doors. The carpet may have been new but it was covered with huge stains and felt gross to walk on. The bathroom floor grout was black it was so filthy. The TV did not work well. There was something gross that had been spilled all over the two chairs in the room. We would not touch them or sit on them. The airport is close, in fact it felt like small planes were going to land in the room. The biggest issue, however, was the fact that the room key would not work and the staff could not get it to work. So we could only go in and out of the room by going to the front desk, a 2 building walk away, and getting someone to let us in each time. It was scary not being able to have a room key. This motel has "adult" entertainment 1 block away. Not a good, safe place for kids. At least I was given a 25% refund (out of a $300 bill).
