UNBEATABLE LOCATION FOR THE PRICE
I TOOK MY MOTHER AND BROTHER TO MONTEREY FOR A VACATION, IT WAS THEIR FIRST TIME THERE. THE HOTEL IS OLD, BUT CLEAN AND ROOMS ARE GOOD SIZE. THEIR FREE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD. PRICE AND LOCATION EXCELLENT, JUST A FEW MINUTES AWAY FROM ALL MAJOR ATTRACIONS LIKE AQUARIUM AND FISHERMAN'S WHARF AMONG OTHERS. THE ONLY BAD THING WAS THEIR LACK OF GOOD BILINGUAL CABLE/TV CHANNELS. STAFF SAID THE OWNER TOOK THOSE CHANNELS AWAY, IN MY OPINION A WRONG DECISION SINCE PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES VISIT MONTEREY. HOTELS SHOULD PROVIDE SUCH BASIC AND ESSENTIAL SERVICE TO THEIR INTERNATIONAL GUESTS.

MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM IS IN MY OPINION THE BEST ATTRACTION IN THIS PENINSULA, SPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN.

pch vacation
was just for one night so we justs settled. Great locoation.close by to attractions but was not clean at all. Plus poor plumbing should have asked for another room but too tired..

Overpriced!
Hotel was adequate but laked acceptable place to clean scuba gear. Overpriced for what it is!

Nice hotel
Nice deal for the price. Staff friendly, room very clean and large, nice complimentary breakfast and the installations are new.

Monterey Bay Travellodge.
The room was clean and in good repair. My room overlooked the street and there was some noise at night. So if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room towards the back. Rooms has a nice size refrigerator and microwave. NO tub but has a real shower. Breakfast was cereal, muffins, bagels, toast. hard boiled eggs, bananas juice and coffee. For this price not a bad spread.

The desk clerk, [...], was most helpful during both of the two successive weekends I stayed there. She is intelligent, tactful, cute, and should be moved up to more challenging duties.

Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover
I read the review for this hotel from a previous user so I was prepared to NOT be wowed by the exterior. I actually lived in Monterey for over a year and the location is great for getting to everything easily! We had reserved a single king room just thinking our son would sleep between us but between making the reservation and arriving we found neither he nor we slept well. So we were thrilled that we were able to get a double queen room instead. There was a price difference but it was worth it for the comfort and safety! Their pet fee was fair and adequate and we're always appreciative for a good pet friendly hotel! Beds were comfy, room was clean and there was even a fridge/microwave in the room!

Great room, very clean & nice, good valu
very nice hotel, sliding glass screened doors, can get fresh air, right on buslines, take bus to Fisherman's Wharf-5 minutes away. Service is good, maid service very effecient & clean, just a very good price for this upscaled hotel - refrigerator, microwave, ice machine, very secured, don't have to worry about someone breaking in, has safe in room with key, outdoor doors with locks at all times.

Short drive from hotel
Take bus to bus terminal in Monterey, then walk 1-2 blocks & see the shops before you get to Fisherman's Wharf. Good deals on jackets, and other items & souveniors. We had a great time. In the hotel, you are away from all the crazy traffic, so, take a bus for 5 minutes, then walk the rest so there is no parking.
