Great Poolside Room
The Travel Lodge on North Fremont Street in Monterey was roomy, comfortable with 2 upholstered chairs around a round table. The sliding glass doors opened onto a little patio with 2 patio chairs and a table. The room looked onto the pool area. Very relaxing room and patio area. The room had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Easy access to the highway which leads to the Fisherman's Wharf and Aquarium area. Great room for an overnight visit and I was referred by a friend who stayed 4 days.

Very basic
A fairly good value but definitely a budget motel. Appears to have been built in the 60's and not many upgrades since. No tub in our room - just a shower. The room was fairly large with two queen beds that slept our family of 4 comfortably. Breakfast was minimal and in a very small room. The area is so-so with budget motels and an adult theatre a block away. The restaurant attached to the hotel has gone out of business. Since we didn't spend much time in the room this hotel was adequate.

Pool view a must
The first room assigned to us overlooked the drive and directly into 2 levels of occupied guest rooms. There was no privacy and the room had a weird odor. We asked for a different room and we got a 1st floor pool view. Our room was large and comfortable. It was clean with no odor. As a bonus, there was a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The beds were comfortable and there was free wireless internet.I would recommend a pool view room only.

Stay in the front not the back
The first time we stayed at this hotel we were very satisfied with the room. The room was located in the front part of the hotel. Our last visit was very disappointing. The room was located on side towards the back. It was a bit dingy. The room was the two queen beds with a third side room that was the size of a shoe box. Not to mention it was also attached to some door and the attic (I'm assume the top hatch was to the attic). The room was a non smoking room, but for some reason the bathroon had a very strong smoking smell. I would definitely stay at this location again, but with a request to stay in the front part of the hotel.

There's a great restuarant Black Bear down the street that had a variety of meals to satisfy you for breakfast, lunch or dinner. A short drive away is the National Park where we enjoyed an all day hike. The outside scenary is a view.

Very family friendly.
The Monterey Bay Travelodge, MONTEREY, CA was very comfortable, the room was large. One can have access to the free internet using your laptop or at the business center. The airport was very close by and therefore it was a little noisy.
