Relaxing romantic getaway
Had an oceanfront room. It was outstanding. The continental breakfast was impressive. The room was very clean. I've never slept so good in a bed before. That bed was extremely comfortable. Close to dining, aquarium, anything you like to do. The only two things I didn't care for were the towels. First is the towels. They were a bit hard, rather than soft and fluffy. Also, the second night we were there someone was staying in adjoining room next to us and we could hear them talking. Probably through the adjoining doors, not because the walls are thin. Bottom line, if you want t relaxing, romantic trip and waking up to the sound of the ocean and the love of your life next to you, come here. Also have to say that we felt that Monterey was surprisingly LGBT friendly.

Short walk from hotel
If you're planning on going to the aquarium, to avoid paying for parking, check in to the hotel first, park there and then just walk to the aquarium. It's not far at all and you get to stroll through Cannery Row. Also, Gianni's pizza was a short walk away and very good.

The room was very nice. Very nice views from balcony. The only issue i had was with house cleaning. Check out time was 12:00 an we went for a walk on the beach. Upon returning to check out at 11:30 our room had been cleaned an some our itmes were outside the door. Very disapointed in that aspect of out stay.

The Two Frequent Traveler
Great views but service lacking!
We had maintenance issues with our room the evening we were there. The staff did little or nothing to remedy the situation. They used platitudes but were lacking the sincerity to back it up. We should have stayed at the Plaza.

Great little getaway!
We were looking for some place nice, in a good location, without being outrageously expensive. This place was really fantastic! The staff upgraded us to a harbor view room for no extra charge when we arrived. The bathroom was big and luxurious with nice Aveda products; the room was really comfortable; and we enjoyed getting a simple breakfast delivered in the morning. This was just what we were looking for!

Good value for money
They do not cater Bread for breakfast. Good location The staff at the reception were extremely helpful.

Romantic Getaway
Simply wonderful! Jacuzzi on 4th floor fabulous and quaint. Front desk staff (Quinn) very helpful and parking covered two days! Wish we had more time. Schooners for lunch highly recommended! Order everything on the breakfast menu, all great. They upgraded to an ocean view before we arrived because it was available! Will definitely stay again... Dance at Sly McFly's too...

quick getaway
When we arrived to the Inn, the desk was very friendly and accomodating. The ammenities provided very very nice. The only major complaint I had was that we had some very loud and noisy neighbor guests just below us. They had loud music during the late afternoon when we were taking a nap. They were smoking on their deck (I thought this place was a non-smoking hotel); thus we could not leave out slider door open to enjoy the fresh ocean air & sounds. Later that evening, after 11:15 PM, you could hear that they returned to their room. Their announcement was that you could hear their room door slam about 6 different times. Then, they decided to turn their music on loud. Finally, we could not take it anymore and called the front desk. Finally, hotel security knocked on their door and the noise ceased. The next morning upon waking, I opened the slider door and the folks were smoking again. The smoke drifted into our room. WE DECIDED NOT TO STAY ANOTHER NITE. A VERY MISERABLE STAY. I would have given them 5 stars if we had a better experience.

Running Rabbit
It was fabulous!
I stayed during the Big Sur Half Marathon weekend - got a most restful sleep and a wonderful stay. It's in a great location and the staff were absolutely awesome! I'm booking my return trip for the Big Sur International Marathon in April 2012 for sure!!!

Great Deal
Room with a great view. Short walking distance to a lot of places. Why pay higher price in the middle of everything when you can just walk and enjoy Monterey.

A wonderful weekend in Monterey
The hotel in right on the water, with perfect views of Monterey Bay from the individual balconies. We were able to walk to several great restaurants and to Fisherman's Wharf in no time. This was the best trip we have had in a long time.

The Sardine Factory made us feel at home, served wonderful food, provided excellent service, and had an exceptional wine cellar. The Trailside Cafe had great Huevos Rancheros for breakfast the next day.
